My 79 went from marking it's territory to leaking then totally incontinent. I’m thinking rear main. Looking for opinions, what else could it be? Do I have to pull the trany to pull the engine? 2f

Yikes, that is a mess! That is a crazy amount of oil to just be leaking. I'm assuming you've checked to make sure that your drain plug is tight and that the gasket is in decent shape. Also, make sure that your oil pan bolts are still tight. If it does turn out to be your rear main, you don't have to pull the engine. You do have to drop the tranny, and pull out all of the clutch compents. Then, you can just reach into the bellhousing and pry out the old seal, and pop in a new one.

Yea it went from a quart ever 4-5 tanks to 3q in 70mi thanks for the intel i'll check

Did your leak end up being the rear main? My 77 has the same symptoms.
