Merry Christmas everyone, another year come and gone. Hope everyone is spending the day with family enjoying the snow, eating good food and sharing laughs.

Hopefully Santa was kind and left the odd cruiser part under the tree! Now get out there and enjoy the snow with a burnout or two!

Merry Christmas,
Lachlan

Cheers!

Guess what I’m up to!

Building a FF rear axle....Stump did one in the hardcore section, one of our members who now lives on the other coastish...how much extra width to you gain from those adapters?

To use them you cut off the semi float flange and weld them to the housing. Then you are able to use front replaceable spindles on the rear. These use landcruiser front calipers. It looks like I could gain about two to three inches without adding any tube. But I plan to keep it stock width by cutting the axle tube down to use stock full float axles. I prefer to have less custom parts.

What are you going to use for a centering bar and pucks in a center section to line up your adapts?

I’m not sure yet. I have been reading all I can about lining it up. Got any good ideas?

Can’t remember the guy but someone in nanaimo I believe bought a bar and pucks for the axle he built any one remember who that was?

Cool. I didn't realize they made those...

Jig wouldn't be hard to build. I'd be inclined to use heavy ready rod so it could clamp it all together and just turn some aluminum discs to hold it all centered. But I'm sure there's a few ways to do it.

Probably end up truer than most factory housings...

Yeah there’s are a couple different options out there these Axle Flanges, Rear, Toyota, Full Float are for Toyota calipers but other company’s make some for gm calipers so you get a parking brake.

I have a disc drive shaft brake for my parking brake. Works dam good unless you bend it on a rock, but It dosent hang below my skid plate so I haven’t yet...
