TLCA needs to look into collecting it's members e-mail addresses and getting them organized.

You need to look at an online site called Constant Contact. Email Marketing Solutions from Constant Contact For $30 dollars a month you can send out as many e-blast as you want and can target specific groups keeping them up to date with vendor specials and club happenings.

The site also allows for custom made surveys. Where you can ad them into the e-blast or just send them the survey. Nothing helps the organization like finding out what its members think, all in a very short period of time. Plus you can also add a contact sheet to the TLCA website for visitors to enter their contact info so even if they are not a member yet you can tailor your e-blast to help gain membership.

Lastly is to go out and get your clubs to provide you with their e-mail addresses. As long as they are a TLCA club in good standing they should provide an e-mail list of their member whether they are TLCA members or not.

This is something we will most likely need to look into after we get through this rough patch. We are doing better all the time, but we still need to get through this.
The only issue would be that we would need to change some things so that membership could opt out, since we don't want to offend or harass anyone, too much :)
But it looks cool, and seems as though there could be some benefit.
We'll have to see what others say, and see where it goes. Thanks for the heads up Marshall.

Hi Marshall (and everyone else reading this),

Our current server-side software already enables this. And in fact we are already using this feature; we turned on the switch to the TLCA member's-only section just a few days ago. Webmaster Gehn has already sent out a blast to encourage you and all TLCA members to take advantage of our new, member's-only content.

Just curious but one of the main reasons we went with it was because it didn't put additional strain bandwidth on the server as well by sending it out from our IP we could have gotten blacklisted as a spammer. So we did it external.

So is TLCA getting e-mail addresses from the local chapters to help advertise TLCA?

And as far as the meetings I'm not on the BOD. Was but my term is over. I actually like it that way.

Thanks Marshall, I am currently working on a newsletter feature for the site that will offer the same functionality but for $0/month. I hope to have it up and running soon, but there are simply not enough hours in a day...!

WAG that VTCruiser is actually our TLCA webmaster Gehn?

Got my tech e-blast today. Have to say very nice. That ought to get some participation.

Also the new site is nice. I logged in and even did my renewal. Very easy to use. Was cool tot see the toyota trails content. Now you just need a package for the TT content but sans the printed mag.

Thanks guy and gals for all the hard work.

Hi Marshall, We will be having a discussion on bodreps email list shortly about how to implement tiered membership. Are you still on the bodreps email list?
