Yep, Mark's on point.
TLCA is just scraping by. A donation is nice and always welcome. But.... our chapters should come first. Worst case scenario is TLCA drops the magazine and goes 100% on-line.
We need about 270 renewals/new memberships every month continue as we are. We are doing okay right now, but historically renewals drop off during the Spring and Summer.
The rough numbers are these.
10K every other month for Toyota Trails (most of that is printing and postage)
1800 per month for the Administrator
300 per month for the Treasurer
500 per month for the Webmaster
500 per month for office expenses, new member packets, etc.
A donation will not save Toyota Trails. What we need are more memberships (ones that renew).
We only get 12 - 20 clubs participating on the TLCA conference calls. Dealing with the politics and bureaucracy runs most folks away. The leadership is trying to keep the magazine afloat, but the future is pretty bleak. I'm sorry to bear such bad news.
Please call on me if I can provide further information.
Happy Trails! N
...TLCA is almost bankrupt, and needs members bad - maybe just a donation from our club? From talking with Nick Stone at round up, the TLCA is operating month to month, and even the Toyota Trails publication is thin last month, and might not even go to print this month unless they can raise the money.
I have not seen a Treasury report from Brain, and would like to see where we stand before we even open things up to a huge debate tonight. If we are cash flush, then maybe we can help out TLCA?
