When I ask my local Toyota dealer's service department to "lubricate the propeller shaft" or "re-torque the propeller shaft bolt" on my LC (things in the maintenance guide), they look at me like I'm speaking in tongues. Not to mention their inability to balance the wheels, successfully complete an alignment, or not lie to me when I ask what oil they use for oil changes (assured me they use Toyota oil - walked into service area and found them using bulk Pennzoil). One thing they CAN do is upsell me on expensive crap I don't need/want (throttle body cleaning, fuel conditioner, etc. etc. etc.). So, I'm done.
But that leaves the question, is there a decent mechanic in the PHX area (I'm willing to drive a bit) that understands Land Cruisers? I'm willing to pay for stuff I need - just don't want incompetent rip-offs.
