1994 HDJ81 Land Cruiser with 4.2 turbo diesel, auto. 235k kms (146k miles). Imported from Japan. RHD. Full body respray from Japan. Looks AMAZING. Auction grade 3.5, verified mileage. Super clean in and out and under. Fridge, antenna, power mirrors, lumbar adjuster, heat, AC, and yes “D” light all work. New batteries, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, and driveline fluids. Coolant and ATF looked good so didn’t change those. Starts right up and hauls great. All Toyota glass. Aftermarket stereo (with tweeters), and headlights. Tagged and titled under my name in MD. Will provide all export docs and carvx vehicle history (no issues). Not triple locked and I have not personally touched the big end bearings (will leave that to the buyer). PM me for additional pictures or videos or any questions. Thinning the herd (I have two prados, 2 HDJs, Delica, and HZJ73).

You’ll be amazed at how clean it is. Keep it as is to appreciate or build up. See less

I agree! It's a smoking deal on a super clean HDJ81.

I should have bought this instead of the one I bought! This one is definitely cleaner.

Appreciate the comments! I think a lot of the reason why this hasn’t sold yet (vs the Prado and Delica) is the price point. $15K and under seems to sell faster. If she doesn’t move by middle of January, l’ll swap out the BEBs, do some professional detailing, and see how it does on the auction.

I do see one to two cruiser enthusiasts a week who come out to check it out so that’s been cool.

What’s funny is I get more interest on the triple locked manual HZJ73 than the HDJ once folks come out… maybe I’m listing the wrong car lol.

I had a chance to drive this over the weekend and this rig is SUPER clean. The paint looks fantastic, the rubber gaskets have been replaced, interior is top notch, and everything works like it should including the antenna and the ice maker. It fired right up, pulled hard, and shifted smooth. The owner is (as his latest photos show) an enthusiast and knows these trucks backwards and forwards. Decided to go a different direction with my purchase (X5) otherwise I would have been all over this.

Decided to take care of the knuckles while I wait for the BEB bearings and connecting rods bolts to arrive.

Hit a little snag with the spindle being cross threaded by the previous owner, so will be order new spindle, flange and lock nuts. Hoping to get it ready by this weekend for a showing!

Sorry, meant rod bolts. Thanks for pointing that out. Bolts should not be reused when installing the big end bearings.

Trying to convince the wife :princess:..... not looking good:cry::cry:
Fight the good fight brother! New spindle arrives today from cruiser outfitters today. New owner will have a well prepped rig.

New spindle and flange got here fast (cruiser outfitter was great). Both sides done with new bearings, properly torqued everything, preloads set, all with proper grease. Plenty of meat left on the brakes.
