I think the plan now is to start at about 10:00 Saturday morning. Hey will you have another seat open on Satruday morning? I have a buddy that wants to ride with me thru, but he has to work on Friday and I'm planning on heading out Thursday...

Unless anyone else has a open seat on Friday evening? After say...4:30-5'ish...

G is going out on Friday morning.

Heading in Friday morning 10ish. Might have some people in tow. Jesse Elliot might come, Kenny & Chrisie and others.

How about meet at my house before 10 and leave from there. That way everyone should have their groceries and gas ready to go.

I have some maps and I can send to you. Garret is working on a combination of maps we have to make a print of them. This is my first time as well so I don't have real directions. Do you have a GPS?

Yes I have a Rino120 and I have Terrain Navigator. So a route I could upload would be as goos as anything.

PM your email and I shoot back the 2 routes I have. One is from the overlay Ken posted up of the McGrew. The second is fire road we drove in on the way to sourghdough awhile back. That one isn't complete because we did make all the way.

Looks like I'm out for camping and the run.

I will try and be out at Sourdough for the campfire meeting on Fri night, but no guarantees at this point. I will likely not even know until Friday....

Full GPS track

Here is the full GPS track to the best of my ability.

It is in a GPX format, so should work with most any GPS's. You will need to rename the file extension from .kmz to .gbx (mud wouldn't let me post a gpx file)

Ok, the prior post is a ok version. I updated a little more and edit some backtracks, etc.

There are 3 versions, again change the ext. (mcgrewtrailimg.pdf should be mcgrewtrailimg.img....)

the img file can be use as overlay map on a Garmin GPS (not sure how other handle that thing)
the gpx is a open universal map, it will upload as a track
the mp is another common map format, maybe handy

The last section of the fire rd 4402 is hand drawn, so dont watch your gps if you are tracking on it, could end up over a cliff. :D (standard gps disclaimer)

Just an FYI the track you made to the stolen truck is almost as good as a full track, there are no real turns roads after that track until you get to the sadle where McGrew starts... Well there are a couple trail/roads, but they are obviously not the main road...

:grinpimp:

OK, there is no reason for Al and I to drive all the way into Sougherdough. We will meet you at the trail head for Mcgrew. AKA the saddle. What time do you want us there?

I'm guessing it's a 30 minute ride into Sourdough from the saddle. Say 10:30 if we can get everyone out of camp at 10:00 as planned.

We will be running channel 27 for those with a CB.

I'm out for this weekend. The wife is getting nervous that the baby will be here any day. I don't think that she will let me live it down if I miss the birth, pretty sure that would be bad thing and I don't want to miss it either. Plus she is being kind enough to let me leave after the baby is born to the main trip.
