I think Travis went in yesterday morn.:hmm:

Well besides Ice, Food, and Family it is ready. I would like to see how it would look if was just me attending. I went though all my gear and deleted what was not needed. oh well will be on the road Thursday morning. Have a stop in Grants Pass to shop for grocery's, most likely lunch at the pizza joint there then onward to sourdough. Who's all in there now? :bounce2:

Yep, Travis (&girls) and Jimmy went in Monday AM.

I cleaned the undercarriage of the LX470 on Sunday and found both the driver and passenger side outboard CV boots were torn. I spent all day yesterday gathering parts and starting at 8pm last night, Brittney and I tore into rebooting the CVs. We got done around 3:30 am... I am dog tired and still have a legal pad size list of things to get done. I have a feeling my a$$ is going to be dragging!

Hi Russ,
WOW cruising McGrew in reverse, now that sounds like a challenge.https://forum.ih8mud.com/images/smilies/steer.gif
No Russ I was considering taking the forest service road in.
Reason: I have finally got my 40 to stop wandering on the pavement, it was very tiring on a long trip.
After two days wrenching I finally got all the play out of the steering and it now drives like it should.
I have often though of doing Cruising the Woods but dreaded herding the rig all the way up there.
So if we avoid the Sluse and other fun parts of McGrew it should not be to tiring a trip to do CTW.

PS The best part of McGrew is hanging out with the club members.

Rigs all good to go! Got it all washed and packed and this is the first time ever to not be doing something to it up til 1 am or so before a trip. Headed out early in the morning. Any good places for dinner in O'Brien and where is the last stop for fuel?

Last fuel is in obrien.
As far as food, grants pass or cave junction.

What time you getting to town.?

Wild River Pizza in Grants Pass (Closes @ 10pm Thurs.)
595 Northeast "E" Street
Grants Pass, OR 97526-2356

Taylor Sausage in Cave Junction (Closes @ 7pm Thurs.)
202 S. Redwood Highway in Cave Junction, Oregon

If your hungry before there Medford has all the typical places. (30mins before Grants Pass)

And what gnob said. OBrien for last fill up. We typically fill up in GP (more selections) and top off at Obrien. The trailhead is only a few miles from there.

Fires

Am I correct in assuming that we will not be having any open fires this weekend? Need to know for cooking purposes and SMORES,, etc. Can we buy a permit from the ranger district office here?

To my knowledge we can. We can verify with the Forest dude in the morning. But Im running with we are planing on having fires.

Please bring plenty of water and shovel however.

I'm glad you are going to make it, Eric. Your 40 build has been an inspiration for me and I'm excited to see it in person! As a matter of fact, your 40 is my work desktop at the moment. LOL

Cave Junction is the spot for Dinner (Taylor's, Wild River Pizza, and the Mexican place on the NW side of the road that I can't remember, otherwise there is a Dairy Queen and a Subway.. McGrew's tavern/restaurant in O'Brien but I've never tried it.
I'm running the road in to camp- too heavy and too loaded to have fun on the trail. If anyone wants to swap dust and follow LMK. I hope to meet up with the main group in the AM..

Mcgrew's Saloon across from the O'Brien store is a good spot. we will be there Friday night shooting pool and drowning our sorrows.

+1 fill in GP and top off at Cave Junction.

Open fire: I'm bringing an approved LP fire aka "warming/cooking" pit, bring a camp chair and some smores.

Saturday A.M.: I am pre-registered, what time will someone be at the trail head arranging stuff?
