My father in law may be buying my old 1999 Cherokee back from the friend that I sold it to several years back. The motor is blown so it will need a new engine. I'm not sure what years will work, but if anyone hears of a 4.0L with good mileage let me know... I have heard that the 2000-2001 have head crack issues so I'll probably stay away from those. It has all the accessories and wiring harness and all so if anyone knows what years may work, also let me know for sure... I'm still researching! It would be good to have the old heep back in the family.

Sounds like time for a 5.9 :)
Just had a Comanche here with the 5.9 as well as the whole 2011 interior. From Dash to leather heated buckets. Pretty slick.
But seriously that 4 liter is a great motor. Sorry no real help but ill make a call to a RDU buddy that hoards jeep parts and see what he knows/has.

No dice from my buddy. Unless ya want a 360

I like Marshall's idea and a 90 day warranty

My dad has a 4.0L that has about 57k on it. Ran great, maybe the HO version. Does have an ear broken off the back of the block. Been out a few years, but has been stored in a garage and turned over every 2-3 months. He's asking $400. I could get more info if you're interested.

Yes check on that for me. I will have the wiring harness and all accessories, but I'm not sure what years are compatible. Find out what year it is! What about the broken ear? Would that affect anything? Thanks man!

Picks? There was one with the updated front end, Dana 44s, low and on 35s several years back on NC4x4, I drooled over that thing for several months before it finally sold.

May be a different one as the front clip looked stock and the axles were stock (Dana 35s?). Low lift on 35s though and the motor had been warmed over with a cam, chip, port n polish etc and sounded great!

Hijack off

If carps will work that looks like a deal

My dad had a jeep comanche. It was the biggest pos ever made.

Well it is a Cherokee from the b pillar forward lol

My buddy had one at ncsu that was pretty damn capable. Sprung over rear. 3" coils in front 34x10.5 tsl's Detroit locker and factory low gears from some other domestic fit right in. Got him in plenty of trouble and never really broke undeservingly.
