Damn that’s cool to see. I went there 3 years ago. Land of the Toyota’s. Everywhere I went lifted Toyota vehicles. Salt air gets to em tho eventually. So being a 15yr old vehicle, it’s gotta have some rust.

I think it's 1400 to Seattle. Regarding rust, I would assume it does NOT have any coming from Maui, unless driven on the beach.

All of the Maui vehicles had rust starting from the salt in the air. I was told most are newer vehicles, do to the fact old ones are no longer around do to rusting. When I went there I wanted to move there. I’m not saying this particular cruiser has abundant amount, yet I’m sure with that age- it has some rust

I have had a 1990 4Runner in Hawaii for 18 years. It's on the windward side of the Big Island, where the air is usually coming off the ocean (windward) and it rains about 150 inches per year. It has no fender rust whatsoever, pretty rare for this generation. Frame is the cleanest of any rig I've ever owned. For sure rust can be a problem, especially when living near the coast (my place is not) but it doesn't have to be. Note that the LX 470 apparently lives in central Maui, far from the beach and in a dry area.

Come to think of it, my mother has a 2004 Corolla that does live near the beach on Maui and it's definitely rust free. The paint is very faded though!

Was just commenting on what the local Toyota dealership said when I went into purchase my plate holder. Obviously there are a Lot more vehicle on Maui that are new, than are old for a reason. Ps - it’s a small island that has salt all around and on it. Just saying
