Went and bought a 200 after much debate.
My new internal debate is whether I unload the GX or keep it. I guess I'm looking for some opinions on pricing and thoughts before I make a decision.
2007 GX
319K
The good:
No rust at all.
Complete suspension RR. OME 1" standards, OME uppers, all new OEM eccentrics on lowers including bolts. Everything on the front end that could be replaced was, with exception of LCA because BJ were in good shape @ 265K
Timing belt/water pump done @285k
Aisin radiator and hoses installed 5k ago.
Transmission and other fluid changes done 6 months ago at Toyota.
AGM battery installed beginning of the year.
OEM rear DS installed with lift and suspension refresh.
Valve cover gaskets/PCV replaced couple thousand miles ago.
OEM steering rack installed with lift at 270k.
Im sure there is more but off the top of my head, that's the major stuff. Used the truck for hunting trips and long hauls out west Texas and Colorado. Highway miles for the last 100k.
Coastal front bumper installed.
Coastal sliders and rear sitting in boxes that I never got around to. Can either sell for discount to someone or throw in with the truck.
The bad:
Needs new CV driver side. Boot is busted and vibrating. Haven't bothered to do it yet and debating on it. Cheap and quick fix but I'm tired of working on trucks in this Texas heat.
Front end had a truck back into it a few months ago. Picture posted on MUD but long story short, I replaced bumper with steel, headlights with DEPO, and I still need to throw the new hood on and get it painted. I have the hood sitting in garage, just havent got to it yet.
Normal wear on driver seat, passenger is good. Back has some tears, but throw a cover on and call it a day type tears.
Normal scratches and pinstripes. 320k miles of real use.
Cracked dash.
My dilemma:
Would you bother with replacing the things needed (CV and hood) or would you call it a day and let the buyer deal with that? Mechanically the truck is in great shape, sans CV ( I consider this a small repair and maintenance item). Aesthetically, its a 320k mile GX that has been used and the hood is a big factor for some folks. I can throw the hood on and get a quick paint for it no problem, but am i recovering my money at that point? if I spend 1000 getting hood taken care of, am I going to get that back in final sale price?
What do you think the value is both ways? Unload it as is for 5k? fix and sell for 7k. Way off on pricing?
Appreciate all input. I love this truck, but going back to a full size LC and something newer. Many memories made and lot of hours put into getting this truck right. Good truck for someone to wheel with, I'm just burnt out on working on a truck with 300k. Same with my 100.
