Went and bought a 200 after much debate.

My new internal debate is whether I unload the GX or keep it. I guess I'm looking for some opinions on pricing and thoughts before I make a decision.

2007 GX
319K

The good:
No rust at all.
Complete suspension RR. OME 1" standards, OME uppers, all new OEM eccentrics on lowers including bolts. Everything on the front end that could be replaced was, with exception of LCA because BJ were in good shape @ 265K
Timing belt/water pump done @285k
Aisin radiator and hoses installed 5k ago.
Transmission and other fluid changes done 6 months ago at Toyota.
AGM battery installed beginning of the year.
OEM rear DS installed with lift and suspension refresh.
Valve cover gaskets/PCV replaced couple thousand miles ago.
OEM steering rack installed with lift at 270k.

Im sure there is more but off the top of my head, that's the major stuff. Used the truck for hunting trips and long hauls out west Texas and Colorado. Highway miles for the last 100k.

Coastal front bumper installed.
Coastal sliders and rear sitting in boxes that I never got around to. Can either sell for discount to someone or throw in with the truck.

The bad:
Needs new CV driver side. Boot is busted and vibrating. Haven't bothered to do it yet and debating on it. Cheap and quick fix but I'm tired of working on trucks in this Texas heat.
Front end had a truck back into it a few months ago. Picture posted on MUD but long story short, I replaced bumper with steel, headlights with DEPO, and I still need to throw the new hood on and get it painted. I have the hood sitting in garage, just havent got to it yet.

Normal wear on driver seat, passenger is good. Back has some tears, but throw a cover on and call it a day type tears.

Normal scratches and pinstripes. 320k miles of real use.

Cracked dash.

My dilemma:

Would you bother with replacing the things needed (CV and hood) or would you call it a day and let the buyer deal with that? Mechanically the truck is in great shape, sans CV ( I consider this a small repair and maintenance item). Aesthetically, its a 320k mile GX that has been used and the hood is a big factor for some folks. I can throw the hood on and get a quick paint for it no problem, but am i recovering my money at that point? if I spend 1000 getting hood taken care of, am I going to get that back in final sale price?

What do you think the value is both ways? Unload it as is for 5k? fix and sell for 7k. Way off on pricing?

Appreciate all input. I love this truck, but going back to a full size LC and something newer. Many memories made and lot of hours put into getting this truck right. Good truck for someone to wheel with, I'm just burnt out on working on a truck with 300k. Same with my 100.

I can't comment very accurately on value since Seattle area prices seem to be higher than most (yes typically no rust but still)
I picked up my '03 with under 200k and seemingly good maintenance and zero mods for 8500. Almost every 2UZ equipped rig I looked at in the 180-230k price range had not had a 2nd timing belt job.
If I were looking again, that would be my biggest bargaining point. Ironically, I could also use a new hood and haven't figured out the cheap-ass way to get that done yet.
You have a pretty good list of maintenance and some decent mods going. I wouldn't necessarily "throw in" the sliders and rear bumper to any old buyer, if a buyer expresses interest, maybe give them a sweet deal on the extra stuff otherwise sell that stuff on its own.
Does the hood you have on hand need paint still?
If you unload as-is, would you include a loose hood, or would you be left with a hood leaning against a wall?
When I sold my 80 series, I made the call to try and round up every single 80 series specific thing and hand it over. I didn't want to have a long slog on the classifieds here, or random stuff hanging out in my garage.
Give a thought to that aspect too.
Also, if you keep it, how much will it get used, and what would be your costs to hold onto a vehicle with infrequent use? Insurance, storage, etc.

Get the hood done, list for $6500 and see what happens. If you list at $5k your first callers are probably going to offer 3500.

I would personally make it complete. I think your buyer will be looking for a modified GX and the aftermarket parts will be a good selling point. It sounds like it has a solid maintenance history so I’d just do the CV so you can say it’s 100% mechanically. Maybe a carbon fiber wrap job on the new hood would be a little better look than a mismatched hood? Could even do the roof so it looks more cohesive. Ultimately up to decide what your time and effort is worth but I think it would help keep the lowballers and bullshitters away.

Is the some kind of fishing expedition?

To me, that sounds like a 4500 truck, so ask 5500 or more. Aftermarket mods (unless really well done) don't add much to the price. It sounds old and a little tired.

Perhaps a great 'wheeler for someone, but many will want to spend a few thousand more and get a cleaner example. I would clean up and install all the parts you can, so that it doesn't look like a parts truck. Maybe leave the CV for the next guy, since it's not a huge job.

Meh. Kind of what I had been thinking really.

But, I unloaded it for 4k as is. Kept the hood and bumper and sliders. I will sell the sliders and bumper kit locally and get another 1k or so back. Hood I will sell dirt cheap to get the big box out of the garage.

It stuck in my mind as someone's wheeler. Lease vehicle maybe. Reliable but tired. Mechanically sound but if I was to buy a truck for a daily or adventure rig, I would be looking at my other options. I then priced it accordingly. Sold in a couple hours so it might have been a little low, but money in my pocket and space in the driveway.

Dude, it's what the market will bear, been that way for a while now.
