Not sure what to run. Its pretty late, and snow might be an issue at that time, but...something will be open, thats for sure.

Ya know, the single dudes among us scoff at the mere concept of a man pass, but those of us well worn down by life, marriage and parenthood (not that we would trade them away for anything) celebrate these little parole opportunities like they're a Wonka Golden Ticket. Sad but funny and (excuse my use of a big word) ubiquitous.

The Defense Mine, South Park, maybe Goler wash?

:grinpimp:

Just had to throw those out there.

Dude...I was at work when I read this...I had to refrain from laughing out loud at this.
It struck me very funny!
I should clarify...my wife is actually very supportive of OUR addiction, but it does bum her out when I leave to go have fun for the weekend wheeling and she is stuck at home. She likes to go wheelin, but her schedule is such that she is on call 24/7 and cant be more than 30 mins from the hospital.
So when she told me that she was going to the Calistoga spas for the weekend with some of her friends...I was pretty happy for her.
Which also means that I had the opportunity to get a run in the works where I dont feel bad having fun without her.

Thanks for the laugh...you almost got me in trouble!:hmm:

I'm down for this. Hopefully by the next week I will be lifted and have the new disc front end all put in. I am also picking up a Lock Right locker for the front from a guy in Carson for $50!!! Brand new in the box!

Chris,
What lift did you decied to go with?
I was amazed at how much of a difference even a single locker did.
That is a STEAL BTW!

Mark here in Fallon(SARMARK) just so happened to have a few sets of springs "laying" around his garage.(WISH I HAD THAT PROBLEM!) He had a set of 2.5 inch Rancho springs with new poly bushings. They were only used briefly and are in GREAT shape! I was stoked when he told me he had them because I didn't want to go SOA or above a 2.5, I won't be able to fit it in the garage. And the fact that I dig the few 40's that I have seen here on mud SUA with 2.5's, trimmed fenders and 36's. I want to keep this thing as low as possible.(it's safer low because of the amount of lead that has been inserted in my right foot the past 28 years)LOL:whoops:

About the locker, no joke it's a steal! The cat has a good amount of extra parts and what not I am going to look at Friday when I head to Carson City. He also has a 78 FJ40 with a 350, 35's and what not. Not sure the skinny on it yet, but he said he was asking around $6000 for it. I will take pics and throw them up here for all to see Saturday.

im down for a day. wont be able to do much but im sure i can hang for the most part

Oh, and I am definately ready to wheel with the rear end welded and the lockrite in the front with the MANUAL steering! Hmmmm, how can I convince the wife to spend the money on power steering for x-mas???:meh:
I have a Saginaw manual stearing box, 4:1 IIRC, if you interested in a temp fix.

So Keith did you ever figure out where/what you were doing?

Nope, not really!
Im kinda stumped to be honest. There's now snow in the mountains, so that sort of limits a lot of options.
The death valley idea does sound very good though.

Doesn anyone have any thoughts?

Keith

Im really considering Rusty TLC's Death Valley idea and driving the taco. In light of the recent snow fall up in the Sierras, closer trails will likely be...well... snowed.
Not sure what can be done in a weekend reasonably without rushing, so maybe a run into the sailine springs...
Anyone intereseted that might have other ideas.
I can leave Friday after work.

Lemme know,

Keith

Well...
Scrapping this for lack of interest.
