Yeup!
We STOLE the cookie jar for that run. Totally got away with a run that in late Nov. should not have been possible, nor that beautiful of a day.
The south half of the run was incredible...no snow, relatively dry and sunny, and the North half we got into some ice/ snow...nothing too deep, but some of the descents were a bit tricky. If you picked a line, you might not STAY on it.
Ive gotta say, that run gets a little bit harder every time I run it. The "gate Keeper" seemed easier somehow despite the big ass boulder smack dab in the middle of it.
The spot where I broke last time, looked un recognizeable and we even passed it not realizing it till we were at the top. There were a few NEW "hard" spots where some rock stacking and spotting was required that neither Dylan or I remembered ever being there. The ruts are deeper, the boulders are getting more exposed and new ones are getting kicked around.
I got flicked into a downed tree on the trail side and lost ANOTHER rear tail light cover...that makes 100% of the times that ive run that trail start to finish that Ive done that.
It was an EPIC DAY. Im so glad that we braved the speculation of the condition and went to see it for ourselves. We were definatley rewarded for the effort. Had a nice lunch on the river and lounged a bit in the 60 deg sun.
Ken BEEFED his rig with 35 in toyto mt's, 4 in springs and regeared diffs...Looked bad ass and it was its first run with the new set up.
What an amazing day to close out the season up there!
Thanks for coming!
