So what is that made of 1/4" plate? Just curious, looks like your going to use FJ40 tail lights?
 
1/8th inch. Man, it does look killer. I have only seen the pictures. Like I told leaping deer- I sat in my garage looking at my POS and dreaming of the frame stretch after seeing the pics

I guess it is in paint now- should have updated pics today or tomorrow. Barcomb took a bunch o pics.
 
Yeah he was going to use lights from a 77 FJ40 but I had him shorten it from stock to not have the over hang and he said they wouldn’t fit. He is currently going to wire up some 4” round and I will get lights from a 70 FJ40.

He was talking about using 3/16 but went with 1/8”. I will still be more stout than a normal bed and I guess there would have been issues getting the bends done with the thicker metal.
 
Not to jump the gun or anything, but on ebay they have the tailgate TOYOTA stickers for toyota tacomas in gold. Might look great on the new paint.


Still waiting on the pics. I guess he hand made those hooks, BTW.
 
Yeah I was thinking about getting decals for the tailgate.

Wally really does some incredible work. I am glad that I didn’t attempt it myself it would have come out nearly as good.
