It sounds like a good opportunity to put a wanted ad in the classified section.

Generic FJ40 harness build:
1. harness layout dimensions with differences for the 2F alternator location, add-on circuits, deletes, H4 headlight relay, etc., plus wire-gauge-sizes and color identity (I think electrical tape in different colors makes for an okay wire secondary color-id)
2. special connectors considered, or alternatives
3. assembly tools, quality components, and methods and skills
4. parts, such as fuseblock and flashers, fusible link

If you study a schematic from '75 on, it is really clear how the various circuits should be routed thru the loom. The alternator charge cable goes straight to the ignition switch, and then fuseblock, with three different switched-circuits. Just about everything branches from here. The battery positive wire uses a fusible link, and then a length of wire to the ammeter, and then it tees-in to the alternator charge cable.
