First post...replacing my pinion seal and noticed my companion flange had grooves. MAF has a replacement (1977 FJ40/10 spline) but it has a different flange (round vs square). Will this matter? Would prefer not to pay the dealer 132 bones.

Thanks

Welcome.

Call a NAPA, Carquest, or other decent parts house and tell them you want a speedi-sleeve, part number CR 99147

Thanks gents...
Will a speedi sleeve be a long term fix? Will I end up replacing the companion flange latter?

A speedi sleeve should work just fine, but costs about the same as a new flange. At least the last one I bought was about $30+

I am personally aware of sleeves that have been in service for over 15 years....

While we're on the topic of Speedi Sleeves-

Is it the same number for the Tcase rear output? Bought one awhile back from Napa using the number in the FAQ's and it was no where near the right size for my 3spd case.

Bored out the seal retainer for two seals, just need a sleeve to have a non-leaking tcase for the first time in 8 years.

CR 99177 is the correct wear sleeve for the parking brake drum, and the front balancer on the F/2F engine...

This info:

" 74+ 4sp 4Speedi-Sleeve - CR 99189 "

From here <---- this is a link

is garbage, as the rear output seal is the same from 1964-07/80.

Want to toss Woodrow a message and get him to change that?

Cost me, and I'm sure others, $30.

Thanks Steve
