I live in San Diego and need to have my intake and exhaust manifold resurfaced or machined. I can't find any local shops nor does my mechanic know of anyone in the area.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't mind sending them somewhere close as well.

that slight unevenness on the mating flanges of the exhaust manifold isn't a problem The gasket will seal that. The big common problem with the manifold assembly is that the whole freaking thing warps and won't sit flat against the cylinder head.

If you place the assembly against a perfectly flat surface and everything fits tight - you are good, No machining required. But if there is gap - time to get it machined.

Bob's Automotive Machine Shop in Glendale used to do 2F manifolds and cylinder heads (they did mine) but Im not sure if they still do as Bob retired. Call and find out.

If you don't mind the drive:

Martin Davidson Automotive

Kyle used to do all the machine work for Man a Fre before they left Simi valley. He still does K&H Land Cruiser work.

Great job on my Int/Exhaust 2F

It was years ago but I had mine done along with a motor rebuild at Kenyon Machine, just north east of mission bay. 5002 Santa Fe St # E, San Diego, CA 92109. It was a very old school shop. It also helps if they match the washer surface on the other side so you don't have to use cut washers for even tension.
