I have a real nasty oil pan, bellhousing, and transmission housing that I want to clean. Is there anywhere I could take these to be cleaned, or "dipped"? I don't have a parts cleaner or the motivation to do it myself. It's gotta be close to Marietta, too. Thanks.

I have a parts cleaner that you could use. But your too lazy for that.

I had a parts cleaner a long, long time ago. I bought it from Harbor Freight but never used it. I almost had a heart attack when I saw the price of the solvent.

This is why I think it'll be easier to bring my greasy parts to someone else.

My dishwasher just crapped-out, so I'm replacing it with a Bosch. I may use it once more before I replace it, though... :hillbilly:

Let me know if you can't find anywhere. I may be able to get it done

I cleaned the bellhousing and tail housing yesterday. It took five hours of breathing solvent fumes, but they look good. I felt dizzy after 5 hours, so I stopped.

Should of pressure washed it first. Why did you call me if you were going to be huffing fumes.:smokin:

Take it to a steam cleaner place that does engines...melts that crap right off.

That's what I meant by pressure washing.;)

Oh. I thought you meant borrowing the neighbor's for several months and not answering the door when he wants it back. Not like I would do such a thing...

I try to always use a different car wash each time. Share the wealth.

I gotta take a break on the build. My dishwasher totally seized-up and I accidentally ripped the door off the hinge trying to get into it. The dishes are piling-up in the sink. I gotta go shopping this weekend.

Homeownership sucks.

UPDATE: All parts are clean. I cleaned them with paint thinner and elbow grease. I also got a nasty cut on my cheek from a shooting snap ring. Don't forget to wear your safety glasses.

I thought you actually used the dishwasher!!!

I've cleaned a few parts in it before. The heater fan came-out spotless. OTOH, the steering knuckles ruined the dishwasher.
