Is this M416 salvagable? If so do you think it would be worth $550?

Thanks,
Jeremy

any undercarriage shots? seems like salvagable surface rust from the shots you've posted, but in the south, could be bad underneath.

It all depends on how many are available in your area and how much work you want to do. I paid $500 for mine, bought a HF sandblaster (bad idea) and did all of the welding, bending, sanding, and painting myself. I probably have $900 total in it.

That trailer looks fairly straight, just lots of surface rust. Take it apart and bring it to a sand blaster. It will save you a ton of work. The 416's have really good thick steel so the rust shouldn't be too much of an issue.

I wish I could have found one for $350, but I had to take what was available.

That trailer is sharp. You welded the tub to the frame?

Sorry for the confusion. I guess I should have mentioned that this is an M100 built by Dungar Kapple for the Korean War. The tub is about 6" narrower and is welded to the frame.

Jeremy,
If there is no rust thru, then a good sand blast will clean it right up. I paid $450 for this and then I think $300 to blast and paint.
