So the 80 is getting new tires soon (315-75-R16 MTR's) and 2 of the old ones are still in good shape after 50K miles (~50% tread - even wear) and would make great trailer tires. AND I've been leaning toward doing the SOA to the M101.

So the question is ....... What wheels have you all been using that have the same bolt pattern and backspacing as a stock 80 (other than the obvious 2 more stock 80 rims). Any clearance / rubbing / spacing issues after doing the hub swap. I'm planning to use a hub kit such as.... https://www.southwestwheel.com/store/p-247-l0655lb3e.aspx ..... (Thanks to desertdude for the link - )

Also - post some pictures if you have them.

Many Thanks!!

I would only use the same rims that are on your cruiser. Then you have one spare that works for both, and in the very unlikely event, another spare on the trailer. As you can always ditch the trailer and drive out on it's wheels.

I bought the same cruiser rims for my M101. Now I just need to invest in some hubs in the cruiser bolt pattern.

All you have to do is order a 6 on 5.5 hub kit from a trailer supply company that is brake compatable.

YOu wil get new drums that have a 6 on 5.4 pattern bearings and races as well as new washers. I think I paid $130 for one. There is a link on here somewhere from when I built mine.

YOu will also get lugs, so you will have to get those special lug nuts that work with 80 series wheels.

I have all that lined up - What I'm interested in is what rims folks used.

ALSO - the link in my OP - is that the link you were thinking of or is there another source out there for me to consider????
