Vanity is winning on the fenders. Almost ready for paint.

Body filler!?!
*Gasps*

Aka trail breadcrumbs?
Yep! It is a light coat. These fenders have been jacked up since I got them. I am trying to keep my 10 foot status as I will be rattle canning the paint anyways :)

Not what I want to be doing less than a week before the trip, but nothing I want to do on the side of the road or a parking lot. I found the water pump leaking on my Duramax.

Highly suggest replacing the idler pulleys while you are in there if they haven’t been done.. Those ruin the day pretty quickly.

LB7 truck?
Picking up all three in a few min. They only had two in stock and had to order one in. I checked all those once I took the belt off. I also have dual alternators on this one. I should have had them on hand but forgot. I got the pump and coolant tube back on yesterday in 2 hrs. I figure I have less than an hour to go. I figure 2 hours to bleed the system out, they are a pain. Book calls for 5.8 hrs. This is the first time I have done one, but have seen a few done at the shop. We are so backed up at work, I hated to put this in line. Too close to "Go" time and want to put a few miles on it this weekend and double check for leaks. The truck is 21 years old with 160k on it, so it is still pretty clean.

Yes LB7.

Take this bolt out, watch for the seal it’s a washer type.

Fill with coolant and it’ll self bleed. Once solid stream of coolant comes out put the bolt back in and roll on..

You’ve done well if you’ve done it in a few hours. The flywheel holding tool is key for time savings. Or a compact 1/2” impact that has lots of power for the balancer bolt.

I had a aircat 1/2” impact that would fit between balancer and radiator with the socket. And it would pull the bolt out on its own. Got where I could do the entire job in about 1.5 hours if all the parts were laying there.

Or if you have a vacuum fill tool that’s clutch for refilling these systems
Ha, I have both, the tool and know about the bleeder... That tool is a game changer as well as my 36" 3/4 breaker bar. Bolt came out no problem. The Vacumm fill tool is pretty slick. Thanks for the advise, sounds like you get your hands dirty too.

I have been afraid of the shorter length springs. You always see anti-inversion shackles with the "short" spring companies. Having bent and broken leaf springs in the past, I came up with a plan to keep the shackles from flipping back. I installed them at full droop so they should work.
