LX700h OT - hybrid power train experience? (21 Viewers)

Anyone with the new LX700h can comment how goes the hybrid system when the engine kicks on? Is it really bothersome and loud? Will it get annoying if it keeps stop and go type traffic?

I have a LC200 and LC100. Love the engines on both, quiet, powerful, reliable, smooth.
Very happy with the two but considering adding the new LC300 (aka LX700...) to the line up.
But worried about going hybrid. The new drive train on the 700h is a beast, the HP / torque specs are vast improvements.

I had driven a Prius for a while before so familiar with the Toyota hybrid drive train. That thing is great for what it is, but that engine is a peanut compared to the LX700h.

LX hybrid system is completely different from the Prius. With that said, when the ICE kicks in, there's a noticeable sound (not loud) but think of a watermelon rolling back and hitting the trunk sound. I'm use to it and hardly notice it but this is my daily so I'm prob desensitized by the sound.

And to the point of power, it's very noticeable. When you go to Sport +, this thing def move quick.

Just do it, you will not be disappointed. Miles better than my 2021 LC. so many driver assists.

Not trying to highjack the thread, but this question it is linked to the 700OT experience. Can you guys tell me if you can run in H1 all the time, even when parking the car? I do not love the slammed look and would love to just leave it at H1. I think i read somewhere that once in H1 if you go above certain highway speeds, it will lower to normal. if that is the case, does it defaults back to H1 once you slow down? Thanks

You can, I do. It will even run in H2 up to ~37 mph drop to H1 up to 62 mph and go back up to the set height as speed drops back below threshold.

Thanks. So, if you start in H1 and go above 62mph, it drops to normal and once you go below 62mph, it will automatically revert to H1 even if you park and shut off the engine?

1) set to h1 or h2 and it will automatically lower as you speed up, then go back up once you slow down.

2) original topic: some people are really bothered by the "fart" when the engine starts up. I've got good hearing and it's not a problem. It's a thing, but it is not a major detractor. And yeah, @Canyonero's cayenne gts doesn't make that sound when it's auto start/stop engine restarts, but road noise and baseline interior noise on the Porsche disguise it a good bit (rented one last weekend, what an awesome vehicle!).

In fact, if you are really bothered by rattles, this car may not be for you. You can hear your luggage zippers rattling in the very back, it's sooooo quiet inside at speed. Probably the only vehicle quieter would be a Cullinan or Bentayega.
