2010 lx570. My underhood plastic panels are removed (big silver engine cover still present). Anyone do a before and after test on noise levels with and without those panels present?

I find it hard to imagine there is any difference inside the cabin. To my ear, plastics on or plastics off makes no different even with the hood up in the shop.

Both the LC and LX have plastic up to the radiator, the LX just extends back and to the sides. The pre-radiator section may serve as a functional baffle for cooling. I've not pulled mine off because of this.

I ran with the plastics, then took off both the side panels for a while before cutting them. Couldn't hear any difference.

I think it's just that Lexus people like to imagine their vehicles just work without any mechanical parts. Or maybe it's a ploy to scare people away from touching anything and just bring it into the service department. My wife's RX is even crazier under the hood.

Some Lexus people  have removed them completely two handle the extra HP the engine delivers.
