Hi gang,

Mentioned a couple times here on recently buying a 2016 JDM LX570. I'm interested in trying to attach a trailer hitch, though not sure if the JDM LX version includes attachments behind the plastic bumper. I have a suspicion that it does not. If you look at pics of my JDM below you can see the bumper there isn't that center portion that sticks out, unlike in the US. Is there any chance one of you that has an LX without a trailer hitch could take a couple of pics of how it looks from below? I can do the same on mine and then maybe can better understand what needs to be done here to proceed.

What does the owner's manual say about towing?

In the US all 200s came with a hitch receiver and chain loops integrated into the rear crossmember under the plastic cover. This is part of why the cover bulges out on those vehicles. What's under the plastic cover on yours?

I would have thought that if you'd crawl under there you'd find a 2" x 2" receiver. However, I've learned that many of the Japanese imports have bolt holes for a pintle hitch, but no receiver. There are aftermarket bolt-on 2"x2" receivers available to frame mount, but most of them have pathetic tow capacities ~2,000 lbs.

You might be able to rig a curt 13091 bolt-on receiver or similar. That could get you close to 4k lbs.
