Simple question, didn't see answer. I know I can tow, but I don't know what do I need :)

Waiting for new LX to arrive. Will it have hitch and wiring already from a factory or do I need to get something?
On Lexus site it sounds like it's all ready to go

It comes with a 2" hitch. The wiring harness is usually left off by the dealer. Make sure it is there.

Depending on the trailer weight (I recall > 3000 lbs), you will need to install a brake controller.

I bought the redarc tow pro elite which goes behind the dashboard left of the steering wheel, with the button for gain and emergency braking placed at the left or the right of the steering wheel, as to your personal preference. It makes for a pretty neat setup.

Here in the US maybe better bought through etrailer or similar:

I also got the switch insert model TPSI-002. Make sure you get the 002 model and not the 001 or it will not fit.

Find attached a write up I made for myself based on info in this forum and internet. I think it is pretty much the same for the LX570. The biggest deal is preparing the wire harness. I ended up soldering the wires and am pretty handy, yet struggled to make nice soldered connections. Oh well...

I bought 7 pin harness, proportional brake controller, and brake controller plug and play cable from etrailer website. Should be all you need.

I tow a 5500 pound boat, nothing other then stock truck, you don’t need a brake controller, just read how to hook up the trailer using the AHC in the owner ps manual.

No, for now all my needs is 4x8 uhaul trailer to bring motorcycle home. Don’t need controllers and such. Just simple hitch will do

So just need to make sure I got everything
If you’re just towing a small trailer like that, you’ll need a 7 pin to 4 pin wiring adapter. Your LX will have a 7 pin round connector and the trailer will have a 4 pin flat connector. Only trailers with brakes take the 7 pin.

Great. I assume any Uhaul will carry this adapter. What about ball mount? Will it be included with LX?
To make question simple. If I show up at UHaul with new LX, will they have all I need to get one of their trailer on a spot?

Yes. Uhauls tend to be pretty stocked with these things from my experience. If somehow they didn't have it, these can commonly be found at home Depot, auto parts stores, Walmarts, among others.

You will need a 2” hitch and ball and possibly a 7 pin to 4 pin wiring adaptor. All will be available for purchase at Uhaul.

I suggest getting them at Uhaul because you'll need the 2 inch ball on a drawbar with a drop to it so the trailer tows level. My drawbar for my utility trailer has a 6 inch drop, but the LX may be different. Your new LX may come with a drawbar, but that may not work because it might not be low enough for the utility trailer tongue.

I have one on my LX470, hopefully will be correct height, but no big deal - those are cheap.

Maybe, but my 100 and 200 are very different hitch heights.

If anybody going to look for this info, here is update:
1. Wiring adapter included, was in glove box
2. Hitch adapter included, was in trunk in cardboard box

Ball is NOT included. So, it's ready to go, just need some ball :)

Question: In your experience, towing empty open trailer, is mpg going to suffer greatly? What about reasonable speed?

For the hitch ball, better bring a beefy wrench. And some leverage.

Most need 250 lb-ft, with WD hitches needing up to 450 lb-ft.
