Hi, I have a 2000LX with 250k miles on it and previous owner had put some aftermarket shocks and springs and had AHC removed. I want to put OEM LC shocks and when I put a 1'' wrench around the existing torsion bar it fits so indication that the bars were not switched out. Truck drives stiff and is at about 20'' from center of hub to fender on front but by reading forum I understand it is a must to switch these out for safety reason. I do no offroading. OEM bars are $700, I would like to have a similar ride as OEM, is there an aftermarket bar that would work well with OEM LC shocks and provide similar ride? I have noticed that most aftermarket bars are 30mm to 32mm, am worried would make ride pretty stiff.

If anyone has some used OEM bars to sell and send to Vermont, would be interested as well if in good shape.

thanks

Scan the classifieds here. Another good resource is car-part.com which will tell you the salvage yards near you with cruisers. Good luck

I have some non ahc ones from a 05 land cruiser I was going to install before I put the tough dog lift in. Pm me I'm located in CT.

I was in the same dilemma, driving on oem shocks and springs with AHC bars. Definitely do not recommend driving around with this set up as the front end felt very loose and would bounce up and down very easily.

Bought 32mm Swayaway torsion bars and cranked them to 21inches from hub to fender. The ride was significantly improved, very flat over bumps and could take turns a suv has no buisness going that fast through.
Cost me $200.
