Hey guys, my 02' Lx470 is due for some new tires and I've done the research on the largest tire size for my stock truck. I'm planning on getting 285/75/16 BFG Mud terrains. So my question is, if I were to put 1" wheel spacers on my stock wheels, is that going to cause any rubbing issues? keep in mind I only drive this truck on the streets...Thanks

You dont need spacers to run those tires. Unless its just a look you are going for there is really no reason to run wheel spacers. If it is just a look then you may want to get the AHC over-ride from Slee so you can run it lifted full time.

If you looking for a wide look with no fender contact, get the 12" wheel spacers form Corn Breads Land Cruiser custom spacers in Alabama. With these spacers, the skys the limit. Get some extra studs too.

cool thanks I'll look into the AHC over ride..and yae the spacer is strictly for looks, i just feel like the stock wheels are too in so i kind of want it flush with the body or stick out a little.

If you are just driving on streets then why go with an MT?

Maybe i'll go with the AT, but the MT will only be for looks and I know it wouldn't be as efficient but I'm going for the looks...

Have you considered 305/70-16? I have a set on my 2002 LX470 and they fit great.

No I haven't, I thought 285/75/16 are the biggest I can go with no mods or issues?

That's the "official" answer but people on this forum have been known to go bigger. Some say 295s cause no issues. I stuffed 35s on a stock suspension with very minor trimming done to the front wheel wells. Of course, my overall plan was to add a lift but before the lift, the only rubbing I had on street could have easily been taken care of by a small adjustment to the turn stops. I have a pic out there on one of the wheel painting threads.

For your reference, here is a pic of when my truck was on it's original suspension with newly added 18s and 295/70/18s (34.6" but measured just a hair short of 35")

Edit: Mobile Mud app is not letting me attach pics. Will do it from PC in the morning

The office is one person down. I am in South Africa at the moment with limited email. I forwarded one email to the office to contact someone re: a lift on a LX470. Not sure if that was you. I will follow up with them on that.

As for wheel spacers, as mentioned, it is not needed for the tire size you are planning to run.

There ya go! Yep, every time I call someone answers and is very helpful. Ordered a set of 30mm spacers for the rear and they showed up in a couple of days along with a cool Slee sticker, nice job guys!

Here is the pic I promised. 35's on no lift:

Ok Cheers for that it was a while ago, then I tried the mob that sells Slee gear in Australia and got no reply from them either so I just gave up.
I will send an email to you guys again.. ;)
