LX470 - Too Good To Be True?

Just wanted to get a sanity check on a truck that I think I'm very interested in. It's at a third-party dealer (which generally makes me nervous to start with ). The particulars:

2004 LX470
Pretty much fully loaded
99,XXX miles
1 owner Nevada truck
Full service records including 90K service with timing belt and water pump
$22,900

That seems like a very good price which, being my cynical self, makes me wonder what could be wrong?

Or am I being paranoid? Thanks in advance for your input!

Nevada is a very dry state ( all be it a very HOT state ) so rust should not be an issue.
Dealers and lawyers can always be trusted.

there are some steals out there right now (at least in my area where Pruis's are king), so it seems reasonable to me. There's a 2002 lx with 110k miles, and full service history up to date, for $15.7 at a chevy dealer near me. It's the end of year dealers want to sell.

I'm really struggling to understand how everyone is finding these 03-04 trucks with around 90-100K miles for high teens and low twenties when all I see on Autotrader and Cars.com are trucks for 24-27K? I can find many that are WAY more than $22,900...What am I missing?

Are folks really able to talk dealers and private sellers down multiple thousands of dollars? I'd really love to get some feedback on this!

I'm looking too (have my eye on a local '04 LX). Had a friend of a friend run wholesale/auction prices on LC/LX.
Based on that, it would seem to me that looks like a really good price. Maybe not a steal, but certainly good.
But then again, my experience looking at these is only a week old. If that's just normal pricing, I might need to re-evaluate where/how I'm searching.

There seems to be a lot on the east coast, I've been looking pretty thoroughly as I'm hoping to find some poor schmuck dealer that needs/wants to unload at the end of the year. I'm looking for an 03+ LX or LC with excellent service records. I'm focused on four, here are the list prices

-03 LX, 91k miles, $20
-04 LC, 135k miles, $15.9
-06 LC, 134k miles, $22.9 (in CA)
-O6 LC, 105k miles, $22.5

But the market area dictates the price too, so in UT, that may be a good price.

I just bought a one owner dealer serviced 04 with 100k for $17.5k. Dealer had it on lot for over a month and started at $22.

Thats a solid deal on an LX470 in current market conditions. Too many people overvalue 100s. Prices have been artificially inflated on them for years thanks to exporters. Its finally catching up with the 03-07s to where they are actually coming back to reality.

I've never owned a rig newer than 1992 so I might be missing out on some great features but a 1999 seems pretty luxurious to me and the $10K I'd save over an '04 would buy me an ARB for the front diff and a Tom Tom or whatever electronics where missing.

The difference is that you would have a 14 year old truck with close to 200k miles and a Tom Tom.

Granted, the built-in navigation on the newer models is nothing to brag about, but the 5-speed automatic transmission accounts for some of the increased resale on 2003+ models.

Much of the spread in value between a 99 and an 04 has to do simply with the age of the vehicle; Toyotas less than 10 years old are still depreciating due to age; after about 10 years, condition and mileage matter the most and the passage of time becomes less important.

I just got done looking at this <88K '04 LX470 today...
No TB/WP. One owner. Dealer serviced. Been on the lot 60 days.
Lowest they would go is 23,988. I walked.

Don't forget than an LX is going to fetch more than an LC.
