So I picked up my 04 LX470 with nav (ugh!) a few weeks ago. I have no build thread cause I am DD'ing this thing and have no idea what I plan to do with it!

I hated the stereo and all the speakers were blown. I changed some speakers and it still was poop.

I saw on clublex that many Lexus and Toyota's share the same harness and most of them need the 68 ohm .5 watt resistor. Heck, METRA has it in the instructions! http://www.metraonline.com/files/products/INST99-8159S_web.pdf

@jerryb posted as well as @Pucker5 about using the 68 ohm resistor in LC. Well, I know I am special cause I got fancy trim, but the wiring harness HAS to be the same right? Yes... Yes it is. Thanks to you 2 folks for making it simple on me!

The same PLUG C pin 9 and 10 (blue and pink wires) are the TX + and TX - to multi screen. So I started my stereo change today. With the factory AMP, Tape Deck, CD changer, and DVD/NAV player removed, with the 68 ohm resistor installed, my HVAC and INFO screen were working. I am going to have a 5ch amp running everything so that is why the ML amp went good bye! The back up module is still installed so I can use the back up cam.

The trim around the old tape deck will be need to be modded and reused, but that is for another time... I will keep updating this thread as things go together and get finished. I just wanted to share some progress so far.

I can't ant to go all the way up upon power on, only goes bout 4 inches, looking into that.

Hell yah dude. Single imo just seems the way to go to get the good audio and without too much modding. Did you pick a 5 channel yet. There’s some budget beasts out there! Just buy a sheet of that think black plastic cut the rectangle hole, slide the deck through that and put the dash back on. It will fill the 3/8” gap there would be wothout it. Also unless your iPod is way legit i would install the 30$ xm module as you may get sick of having to Dj every time you get in your car. I hate fm radio and xm is pretty good

Yeah single din makes it simple.. I have spent way too much $$ on other car stereo builds, this one is kinda cheap. I got the ant working, and the steering wheel controls working as well!!!

Yeah I am gonna try and hack the trim around the stereo and get some abs to fill it out. I don't have xm anyomre, I have pandora and spotify and then I rip off YT all the time so lots of options. I went with a Rockville DB55 amp, rockford r1675ss r1 fronts, kicker 43dsc504 rear door and kicker comp 10 in sealed box. Everything except the sub is in and sounds decent... WAY better than what I had lol

Here are more pics

Ok this is reassuring that the wiring on our LX is the same as the LC. Did you ever do a follow up post on this install?
