Yes, you can program the remotes from Ebay to work as long as they are for the LX450. I bought one from there about 3 months ago and followed Beowulf's posted instructions. Everything works beautifully.
You just need to make sure it's for a RS3000 alarm. The later model Land Cruisers have the same alarm and fob -- the fobs/remotes are interchangeable.

Are you saying we can get a more modern Lexus key with integrated fob to work with the RS3000? That would be nice.

Not trying to be a jerk, but I advise to scroll up to Beowulf's post, left click on his username, and select the option to go to his current home page. There you will find the user's manual for the RS3000 alarm system available for download in pdf format. This manual will guide you step by step on how to do everything possible with your factory alarm. I advise this so you have the info to change any other settings on your alarm without having to repost or search. Those that recently bought their vehicle may want to clear all old remote codes before programming new ones. The procedures are all in the manual.

You are not a jerk -

just one of those  moments on the last question for me....

When you get out of the truck and close a door, it rearms itself in about 20 seconds. So if you pull in, shut a door, run a load of groceries into the house, come back out, open a door and BINGO.

Sounds like we have the same truck, but mines a 94 FZJ 80. I think we drove people crazy at Surf N Turf. Looked for a model number on the system but didn't see one. My remote is a single remote with 1 button. How do I identify the model of this system, so I can try to figure out how to fix this problem. Is rearms fast enough that if I exit the truck and the kids don't get out of the back seat fast enough, they set the alarm off getting out.:frown:

Post up a pic of the fob and look under the seat for the alarm ECU. Post a pic of the dash lamp or whatever. I probably have a manual for it but you've got to figure out what system you have. Look at the TVSS manuals on my site and see if that's the one you have.
