So brought in my lx to the dealer to have them take a look at why my drivers side door switch can't unlock any doors but the passenger side can. They held the car overnight only to tell me that my master lock switch needs to be replaced for $1000!! I told them no thanks as I already had bought a used one on eBay and swapped it out only to find out that it wasn't a faulty switch. So anyways I tell then don't bother and I go pick up my truck. Well guess what, now my mirrors don't move when I try to use the directional switch and my seat memory doesn't work at all either. So I take it back to the stealership and complain that now these things dont work and they have the nerve to tell me that they will diagnose the problem but it will take a couple of hours to do at $130/hr labor rate. I just walked out disgusted.

So now not only can I not unlock my doors from the drivers side, now I can't adjust my mirrors or use the seat memory. Ugh.

Does anyone know of a good Indy toyota/lexus mechanic/electrical guy that can help me out in NYC?

Thanks in advance!

Lexi4Darin should be chiming in on this any second....

It's about 100% chance that your Junction Box (lower driver foot well) has gone bad.

Thanks Lexi4Darin. Yikes that doesn't sound good. I am afraid to look up the cost of one of those. :/

LoveMyLx - have you looked at a lose wire harness or fuse in the fuse/junction boxes? These are located in the kick panels of the footwells.

The fuse may be fine, however, it may have come unseated. Try reseating it or giving it a little wiggle, even replacing it, it's cheap and worth a shot before you spend a bunch of $$.

I would recommend removing the LH FRONT DOOR PANEL and check the wiring harness between the door and the body where the door hinges are. I recently repaired an LX that had 2 broken wires in the harness.
Un plug the door harness at the LH J/Box and pull the harness out of the body and carefully pull back the rubber accodian looking black rubber boot and check for broken wires.

You guys rock!
I will definitely try these solutions out and report back. Unfortunately at the moment I dont have a indoor garage and the outside temp in NYC is currently a chilly 24 degrees(F). Hopefully I will have some sun on the weekend so I can work on this outdoors.

Thanks again everyone for your awesome input.

To lextechautomotive: Do you think I need to get a special tool to remove any fastners for the door panel or will a simple flathead screwdriver with tape at the end work as well?

As far as the issue after bringing it in, i'd check to make sure they they pluged back any of those switches that control the features that aren't working. This is what happened when i brought the truck in to rallye lexus. They are very careless. I'm currently looking for another dealership to go to should i need warranty repairs. Which dealership did you go to?

Hi 3D FJ!
Yes I did goto Rallye Lexus in glen cove. I kinda suspected that they had forgot to plug something but when they were going to charge me for multiple hours to diagnose something I truly believed they messed up on I was livid and refused to pay them to diagnose what I was certain they messed up in the first place. Yes I guess I should look into a different Lexus dealership as well. Have you tried other dealerships yet?

Haven't gone anywhere else as I really try to do the work myself. Thinking about trying massepequa or Rockville centre next time. While at rallye, they were replacing some speakers (sub and front drivers). They broke a tab on the sub panel, and didn't connect my seat memory buttons which I had to go back for thankfully just as I left the parking lot
