LX electrical woes

Okay so the weather got warmer and I decided it was time to do some investigation. So I did the following:
1. first checked all the fuses with a tester reseated them, no luck
2. Took my drivers side door panel off to make sure all connectors are connected, no luck , all connectors were good.
3. I unplugged the orange wiring harnesses and looked at them and reconnected them back, no luck.
4. I tried to pull back the rubber grommet but it was darn near impossible. The space was so tight between the door and the car body that I couldn't pull it back enough to get a good look at the wires. Is there a certain way I should pull back on the rubber sleeve ?

What a disappointing feeling that I couldn't fix it. :(. I really hope it's not the junction box as the stealership is saying it is.

Thanks anyway everyone for your kind support!

You will not be able to pull the rubber boot between the door and body back to see if there is a problem in that area. To see if thats where your problem is you will need to:

1) Remove the door panel
2) Remove the kick panel cover and unplug the three leads that go to the drivers door wiring harness
3) Work the rubber boot between the door and body by pushing the boot through the hole in the drivers door, wiring harness and all. You will need to reach down into the door and pull the harness through the hole. There is a plastic clip that holds the harness down by the hole that will probably break, you can try and release it where it protrudes through the hole just below the rubber boot.
4) Once you get the wiring harness through the hole you will be able to pull the boot back from the wires. This part of the harness is whats pictured in my thread.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tip Gottagetone.
I will definitely give that a try when the temp gets warmer.
For the part that you mention to reach down the door and pull the harness through, I guess you must have taken off that plastic sheet/cover? I guess that is some kind of moisture barrier or something? Were you able to put the plastic sheet back?

Thanks!

I cut mine then taped it back together. That tar that holds that sheet on is not nice stuff...
