So i went through this decision making and leaned towards that tire at first. Then the continental ht in that size as its a little shorter and has a rounder sidewall. But really I would only run that size if I wanted to install an AT (I think Toyo AT3 is the go to in that size). Its pretty tall actually.

The 285 Paradas I run are excellent but .2-.3” shorter than stock. They fit the bill much better and match the factory speed rating.

Funny thing is is the speedometer with the stock tires almost reads a little slow. These shorter tires have it reading almost a little fast. But both were within 1mph at highway speeds.

There is some weird programming miscellaneous with these LX. Its like they wanted to run the 285/45/22 or 285/55/20 but changed their mind the last second. Not to mention the horrific transmission tuning.

After racking my brain and changing tires etc I have nothing against the 265/50/22 either. You may just want to try that if they are still good. On an Fsport its a 5 tire job if you change sizes.

Has anyone put 295s or 305s yet on their lx? There is a white lx on the vossen website with 295 tires.

I viewed the white lx on Vossen's website and loved it also. This rig is in stays in the H1 setting and had to be slightly modified to reduce rubbing. I choose to go with the 275/50/22 on the vossen HF-1 with nitto recon grapplers. I love the way it turned out.

U had rubbing with 275s? Weird and others here no rubbing with 285s. What offset did u use? Nice lx!

Let me be clearer. My silver LX has no rubbing with the 275/50/22. When i mentioned rubbing, i was referring to the white LX on Vossen's website with the 295/60/20 set up.

295s would be smoking on the lx! 295 50 22s would be nice. Sorry I misread your post. Tired eyes

It's wasn't your fault. I could have be more clear in my initial post. I can tell you the ride quality improved with the extra rubber from the 275/50's compared to the stock 265/50's.

So after reading through this thread, it sounds like 285/45/22 would work without rubbing for street tires. What about wheels with a 10" width and 30mm offset? Or is 9.5" the max recommendation? That's where I'm confused.

I have AHC

I personally wouldn’t go with a 285 width on a 10 inch wide wheel with +30 bs. I am sure you read my posts. You would probably be ok on a 275, 9.5” wheel, or +35-40BS (change to one of these in your scenario).

But there are people that run less BS.

Happy to share info as there wasn’t much out there when I started.

Yep I saw your posts - super helpful, thank you!

I guess I'm asking - if the 10" width is a must-have, because the mfgr doesn't make a smaller wheel - what would be the best option? 265? 275?

First choice would be a set of Niche Serene 22X10 +30 and one of these Michelin Defenders: 265/50R22 | 275/45R22 | 275/50R22

Or a second choice would be Vossen HF8 22x9.5 +20 and one of the above tires.

Oh 9.5 is plenty wide for a 285.

Those Vossen will stick out too much.

I would run those Niche on a 275/50/22. I would suggest the continental HT as its a little shorter and doesn’t have such a trucky sidewall.

The 275/45/22 is way too short.

This site is very helpful in finding right tire sizes.

Oh interesting. I'd read that Defenders LTX M/S2 were excellent for road noise reduction.

Are the HT's noisy? Any other benefits to the HT's besides wet traction? This is my first Lexus and I'm amazed at how quiet the cabin is.

Why would that a trucky sidewall be a good or bad thing? Thanks for your help, totally new to all of this lol.

I was using to compare too Alloy Wheel & Tyre Fitment Calculator. Offset, Tyre Stretch and Speedo Error | Will They Fit - https://www.willtheyfit.com/

It looks ok in the 285/45/22 size but when you get more sidewall with minimal backspacing it looks like an F150 tire grandpa would get but that is out of place.

I narrowed it down to the 285/45/22 Parada and 275/50/22 Continental HT. That Parada runs a tad tall so closer to stock and is Z rated, that Conti runs a tad short so closer to stock height.

The conti ht and defender run neck and neck in reviews. Defender little better off the pavement. Conti is a rounder sidewall looking actual HT.

I just change the factory Dunlop's on my 600 to a set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 and went one size bigger to 275/50/22. Let me tell you this is the move if you want to keep the stock wheels. How Lexus sells a 100k vehicle with those s***ty Dunlop's is is beyond me. The look, the ride quality, everything is much much better. The car drives like it actually has some solid footing now and it looks damn good!

I did the same tire and size. Need to go pick them up and get them installed on my vossens. Not sure the stock rims are wide enough and dont trust the 8 inches width although tire rack says it's fine on their website.

Why not post some pics so Subliminal can see them since he asked. I am not much help there…

So i got my vossens 22 x 9.5 30 mm offset and michelin defenders 275 50 22 size. The wheel and tires are indeed massive and weight is about 80lbs i believe. The stock tires are just under 10 inches wide and the new 275s are 11.25 inches total width. Very big tire. Cannot imagine folks putting wider than this. Will do a trial fit tomorrow but based on info in this thread should fit nicely.

Interestly on tireracks website the 275 50 22 and 285 45 22 profile tires have same section width. Contact areas on pavement for 285 is more.
