Looking for three original FJ45 LWB tie downs. Anyone have any extras they bought from Kevin the master builder or ? Just need three to finish off the box then ready for paint. Picture is from Kevin's collection. I did try AQUALU, no joy.
Thanks

love2fly,

Can you make them, maybe grab an old bashed up one and flatten it out to get some measurements or use the below pic, print it out at the correct size, glue down on some sheet steel and mark it out with a prick punch along the profile, cut out/file and bend into shape and weld her up!

Your truck has come a long way, looking real good.

Hook

Yeah I had the same saved on my PC. Might give it a try, or might take it to the metal fab folks in town.
I wish Kevin was building again but everyone needs time for themselves and family.
Wish me luck.

The hooker

Went to a few places that do metal work and stamping and for the cost of the set up and such it would be much easier/cheaper to go with an after market hook. Still waiting to hear back from one of the MUDD folks that had a few on his tailgate. Cheers

Pickup Truck Hooks

Why not just try to find a late 70's to early 80's toyota pickup truck and take the hooks off of that. Probably a lot easier to find that type of vehicle at the scrappers or somebody trying to part one out.

Thy look pretty close to me, and if they are a little different, you can make sure you place them on the tailgate and I bet no one would be the wiser.

Pic of a 1982 pickup for reference to what I am talking about.

Hooks

HoffLarr, did that a few weeks ago at a few of our local salvage yards. Found one Toyota bed (bent up) but they want me to buy the complete bed. They look close but a bit smaller from what they looked like.
Thanks

I bet if you went to a Pick 'n' Pull type yard with a cordless grinder you could get them.

They don't are how you mangle up the vehicles to getwhat you want.
