LV rear hatch and tailgate questions?

I have a few questions about the rear hatch and tailgate on the LV's? Mine is missing the outside handle and some of the internal stuff. How exactly does it work back there? The handle pops open the hatch first, then maybe pull more and the tailgate strikers release?

Can someone post a picture of the inside workings of the tailgate? How does the outside handle attach to the inner workings? Any input is great appreciated.

Also if anybody has a spare outside handle to sell for my running and driving LV, it would be great. I need one or I will have to make something.
Need one more striker for the bottom of the hatch as well. I can post a picture of what this is if need be.

Here are a couple of shots I have. Not great but shows from center of tailgate to top hatch release, then to tailgate striker release.

And yes to the question, pull half way for top hatch to open,then all the way for the tailgate.

Awesome. Thanks for the pix. In the first picture, as the outside handle is pulled up....the inside rod is pulled down right? Do you have a picture of the backside of the outside handle (not installed on tailgate) ? Thanks again

After looking at my set up closer, I can see how it moves. Would still like to see what the backside of the outside handle looks like? The handle/lever part?
Here's a picture of a part I am missing. I have one and need 1 more. Anybody?

If nobody beats me to it, ill get a picture of the back of handle today or tomorrow. I will look to see if i have a striker also.
Ill have to check but it might be the same striker as on a 64 to74 FJ40 rear door??

i have a complete (beat to s***) taillgate minus the handle if you need anything.

Only thing besides the handle I am missing from the tailgate is the large Cruiser emblem. Have an extra one of those? My tailgate itself is pretty beat.

I was wrong about the striker being the same as a FJ40 one. They look kind of the same, but the LV has the two long parts on it and is smaller. Make me a offer if your interested.

The pot metal license lamp/rear door support always cracks so good luck with a fix. I was going to have them remade in cast/machined aluminum but bailed on project.
btw, the little pins that hold the toyopet handle in are tapped 4/48 is you need to thread them and retract them inside.
