Good evening, my name is Kevin Johnson, I’m somewhat new to the 200 club. I have a 2015 LX and have just put a set of Rock Worrior wheels with KO2’s on it today. I did not realize my LX lug nuts would not work and Discount Tire put a set of lugs on that look horrible. What do most 200 owners use in this situation?
Thanks much, I’ll post more as I improve my rig!!!

Nice truck - nice wheels/tires!

Now that you have the Rock Warrior wheels, you should read Toyota's "poop sheet" on them:

https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/installation/40362D86F9D917D98825767800785BB2_Tundra_Sequoia_Land Cruiser TRD Alloy Wheel PTR45-34070-34120 IssF.pdf

You will find the TRD Part# for the lug nuts on page 1 (Hint: P/N PTR27-60110). Also the recommended tires (LT285/70R17 Load Range E), how to mount them and what balance weights should be used - good reading for any owner. NOte: The Recommended Cold Tire Inflation Pressure in the info sheet (46psi) is incorrect - the correct Cold Pressure is 40psi.

If you still have any questions, feel free to post them up - plenty of good folks on here willing to help.

Yup just look up the part number in amazon they’re $175 bucks for the set. That’s the same set that I got. You can also do a search on this forum and they’re are a couple of threads on it with a cheap option I forgot the price.

Can you post a closeup if the lugs lug nuts on your tire? Zooming in gets too fuzzy to see detail.

These are standard RW lugs:

These are the Toyota lugs for the TRD wheels:

Note they have a spline shaft which requires a special tool that comes with the lug nut set for installation and removal.

Also note the conical mating surface that rotates freely from the spline shaft. This prevents damage to the forged Aluminum TRD Rock Warrior wheels. Most aftermarket lugs do not have this separate mating surface.

Gratuitous pics of the nuts on the wheels:

If you buy non-Toyota spline lugs...make sure they have conical washers at the base. Many cheapo lugs skip the washer, meaning they can dig into your aluminum.

Also... McGard makes the Toyota lugs, and they also sell them under their own name.

Last... Strongly recommend that if you buy the TRD set...that you throw away the “wheel lock” lugs. They notoriously fail...which can leave you unable to change a flat. I’d buy the McGards, or at least buy 4 McGard lugs and toss the locks.

Good news on the spline adapter requirement is that opportunistic thieves are unlikely to have the adapter. Many shops don’t even have one and tend to ask for mine...so it does offer some bit of extra security even without those pesky locks.

I posted the mcgard replacement part number on here somewhere.

Me too...

Here are Amazon links:

McGard 65315 Chrome Cone Seat Spline Drive Lug Nut Set, (Set of 4) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007QB5A42/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0K0KBb9Y264W7

And here is the spline adapter:
McGard 65301 SplineDrive Installation Tool (1" Hex Size) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000COMXAY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_hO0KBbE9WX4ES

Quite a bit cheaper...especially considering you would have to replace the wheel locks in the $175 TRD set with regular lugs ($25 via McGard)...meaning the TRD set is about $200 vs. about $115 for the McGards including the spline adapter.

For anyone with lingering doubt about whether the maker of “Authentic TRD” lugs really is McGard...

Here’s handy proof: :)

Go to the TRD one wheel set here... then click on the photo (so that you can zoom in on it at full resolution). Zoom in on thesine adapter, and you’ll see the McGard stamp on it. :)
