It's the little things in life....I went to change a tire on Sunday only to learn that the jack and tools aren't a part of what came with my purchase last year. Being that I have had the rig for almost exactly 12 months now (happy anniversary to me) and am just now noticing this, I'll take the blame and not point fingers elsewhere.

So....what size are the lugs since I need to make a trip to the store? Google gave me some details I wasn't quite sure was accurate. '92, FYI, and I won't be back in front of it until the weekend.

Last, what else can I use to lower the spare? I'm fairly confident this should be something I can cobble together.....or if anyone has a spare tool kit laying around for an FJ80, give me a PM.

thx!

Would need to do some doubling checking but pretty sure they are 21MM. Stock wheels on the 91/92 were the same style as those used on mini trucks and 4Runners with a little different offset. I have a few of those wheels and lug nuts around and a lug wrench from a 94 to see if they are both the same.

I believe they are 12 mm x 1.5

I believe they are 12 mm x 1.5

Thought he was looking for the size of the lug wrench needed to change a tire. Either way I checked and yes 12MM X 1.50 is the size of the lug used. 21MM is the size of the wrench needed.

As for tools believe I would just purchase the correct OEM Tool to lower the spare and operate the jack. The 60/80/100 series used a handle with three extensions. 40 Series was a handle and two extensions. I would be sure and get the later 40 series if you go that way or you will end up grinding the hook to make it narrow enough to operate the spare tire winch. Should still be available new, I could maybe understand keeping the early cool tool rolls out the 40/55 series. But after that I don't understand not leaving them with the vehicle.

Tire lug kit (with 21mm deep socket included) picked up from HF. I'm also picking up a hi lift, will skip stock jack. I'm eliminating spare from stock location, just want to lower it out of there so will rig something to get her out. Thx guys...much appreciated on the nut size.

Should be able to find someone local to drop the spare. I know our 04 4Runner used the square end and not a hook. I haven't paid attention to what my 2010 Sequoia uses. Just know the jack and handle is in there. I also have a late FJ40 jack handle just in case I need to lower the spare on my M416 which I have a 60 series spare tire carrier on. Personally I would want a OEM jack and handle for changing tires on the road. Less lift required lifting the axle than the whole vehicle which will drop the suspension meaning the vehicle has to be raised higher to get the wheel off the ground. Last thing you want is a unstable vehicle with traffic speeding by. Uneven shoulder would make it even worse.

Alright, alright, alright.......I'll get an OEM jack. Sage and sound input is tough to ignore, thx for this.
