This is what 1in spacers look like.

Thanks for the pictures. Your truck looks good. I've read quite a bit about it. I am going down the Icon front shock road right now too. When I was waiting for the shocks, I really went down a rabbit hole and wound up breaking the front end down to individual components, cleaned/painted, and replaced most everything as I am at 170k and didn't want to go through all that again. Fast forward two months and things are starting to go back together.

I really feel like a 1" in the front and a 3/8 or 10mm in the back would be the right combination for me.

Anybody have a slip on spacer in the 3/8 or 10mm variety that I can talk them out of? I have some new SPC UCAs for partial trade.

Curious as to the reasoning between wider spacing in the front than the rear? Several people have mentioned it...

Different size spacers are used because of the 100 series independent front suspension and what happens when the front of the truck is lifted beyond the factory height. The upper control arm (UCA) and the lower control arm (LCA) are approximately level when the truck is at that factory height. When the truck is lifted these arms are no longer level which moves the steering knuckle and front hub closer to the center line of the truck, decreasing track width. So when a thicker spacer is attached to the front, one can come close to eliminating any difference between the front and rear.

So you guys are putting spacers on to gain 3/8" per side wider track? Does that really do anything beside improving the looks? Help with rubbing?
Side benefit of a wider track in the rear is greater articulation. No change on IFS.

NWForester, you might also consider a 20mm bolt-on wheel spacer/adapter for the rear. It is the minimum width that would fit. I prefer a bolt-on adapter vs slip-on spacer.

If you really wanted to line up the rear wheels to the front, you'd probably just install a 20mm bolt-on spacer/adapter on one side (rear, driver's side?) to compensate for axle shift on a lifted 100. :hillbilly:

Kennyao30, I was able to size the diameter of my wheel adapters to wheel's mating surface, so it sits flush. Motorsport-techniques. See comparison:

I agree with preferring a bolt on spacer. I will take a better look at the 3/4" or 20mm offerings. The only ones I've seen are hub centric.

Does anyone use this size spacer?

I essentially am at the stock rear height, maybe a little higher, and the only time the axle shifts is when it's on the jack stands (which has been too often lately). Honestly, as the track bar starts pulling the axle to the passenger side, I would rather switch to an adjustable bar and deal with it that way.

20mm is wider than 3/4".... so I would specify 20mm since the fitment is right near that threshold. The only person that I know that has used this size is Wildsmith on his OE 18's. I measured and confirmed that it would fit my LX and 18's as well. Wheel adapters can be hub centric, to the vehicle and then also hub centric to the wheels. You'll have to clarify. I haven't seen any wheel adapters for the 100, less than 1.5" that were hub centric to the wheels.

Hoser, this is the same outfit that Spressomon offered up? Did you have to specifically request that diameter? That special touch really speaks volumes. Well done.

Yes, same company but this was 9 years ago and I haven't ordered anything else from them. The person gave me a choice of 2 diameters and one was perfect. So, the diameter wasn't exactly made to order… though I'm sure they could.

Gents, thanks for the pictures and tips.

I need to get the truck put back together and take some measurements of the front end. Then I can start with one of the standard size spacers out there, likely a pair of 1.25", for the front. Then take the difference between the new front width and the rear axle width, and have the rear spacers made to that number.
