So, I picked up a 100 series LandCruiser last December and have received an unyielding amount of crap from my boy TripleDave (or Dave Dave Dave) for not sharing what I've done or what I'm doing.

So, here's what I'm starting with:

1999 UZJ100 Gold package w/ rear locker
ARB Front bumper with bull bar
333,000 on it when purchased now at 346,000

White with gold trim. Runs like a dream. Service records: All there, all good.

First thing's first, I tore off the street tires and tossed on some 285/75 Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs. Love them, if you're wondering and they've done well off road. I also plastidipped the Gold. Believe I'm up to 5 coats. It has held up very well against brush, rain and water.

First bit of work that's come up on her were the breaks. That really wasn't a big deal, but I broke some studs tearing her down. Don't know if you guys have had any issues with this or ehat you've done to prevent future happenings, but Dave and I replaced two while doing this.

So, I wanted to do something different to her. Something I haven't seen much of, so I started a Satoshi grill. This was a bitch. I started with... well a grill. I cut out the middle the best I could with a cut off wheel. The edges are left rough and will have to be dremel'd down using a tootsie roll.

After the edges are left you're gonna have a mess on your hands and it's gonna suck no endless amount ass getting this down smooth.

I used 220 and 320 grit sand paper to smooth out the small stuff after I cut away the excess. You will still have very large grooves on the side that I filled with bondo to even out.

I ordered plastic speed mesh off ebay to insert into the center of this pig. Start by lining up your sheet of mesh to the back of your cutout. Mark it and trim away the extra with some dikes. Careful to not overcut, as you want your mesh to match nicely with your grill.

Take your time with the bondo. I suck at bondo, so my blood pressure rose at several points during this exercise. Personally, I drilled small holes near the back of the grill and used tiny zip ties to attach the mesh. Some might not like that, so you may want to use glue and attach an aluminum mesh to the grill by bending the mesh around the grill. But you be the judge if it looks ok.

I'll wrap up today by telling you about an awesome cruiser guy (can't remember his Mud handle) that sold me his Thule MOAB this labor day weekend down in Austin. He had all kinds of cool Toyo stuff. But here it is mounted on my hundo.

Nice looking rig! I did a similar mod to my old Tacoma DC grill. Looks awesome.

Thanks man! Looking at OME 2.5" lift next with UCA from Slee and a snorkel next. Hope to have it here soon. I'll do a better job of documenting that.

More pics chief.

After mudding in Bridgeport I slapped their sticker on her. I am aiming at Hot Springs next. Thinking about Colorado next spring, too.

If by Hot Springs you mean the Hot Springs ORV Park, that is an awesome place to spend the weekend if you plan on camping there! They have a great assortment of trails in every difficulty and I believe its around $30 per SUV so it's not charged per occupant.

Yessir! That is precisely where I am referring. I can't wait to head up there. It's absolutely beautiful.
