Fast forward on the story. I completed the axles swap just in time for SSS18. It was a great event for the swine community. Here are a few pics you’ve probably already seen but why not look again at such fine swine!

This thread is everything I envy..professional skill set, massive shop and space to store Cruisers, multiple luck of the draw Cruiser finds and all the gold to support the addition. Love it.

Sometimes it takes two to make one pig, in this case several! :D Thanks!

Luck continues..

A good friend sent word of a somewhat local pig, of course I had to know more. After talking through him and the owner of the pig, I learned that he also had a few 40s as well. Just as before, I found myself another package deal... I couldn’t resist. First one up on the car hauler was the pig

As soon as I got it home I wasted no time in swapping on some more appropriate wheels and tires.

Amazing what a factory set of wheels can do for the look of this old iron

Like the Dead sticker

Next up was the camo 40. Don’t let the spray paint fool you. This is/was one of the nicest 40s ive had, so solid, near rust free but the best part lye beneath.

Although I’d love to keep them all I have to stay focus on my red pig and I do not want my wife to run away from home. After a good cleaning and a compression check, I posted up the camo 40 for sale. While cleaning I noticed some stripes, I’m a sucker for some stripes. The new owner was pleased when the cruiser arrived as described and was even more pleased when the goof-off went to work.

Got these two next. A good friend of mine called dibs on the 1980 factory PS 40, I will be restoring it sometime next year for him. The green 40 went to a young couple for there first cruiser, I was happy to add another person to the club

In the meantime I was looking for several small pieces to help resto the white 71 pig. I “lucked up” on Craigslist and found the holy grail of pigs.. JK

Meet ‘ The purple pig’

I made quick work of the purple pig, sold the axles to a buddy then starting pulling the 2f and 4spd. Always fun pulling motors by yourself
