Thanks guys more pics to come!

Been a while... continuing the story.
After some several days of hard thinking, I decided i need to sacrifice one of my pigs in order to help fund another. I posted her up for auction on ebay and in 7 days she was sold. Turns out the lucky new owner is a cruiser guy that happens to own a dealership in California. Sad to see it go, but glad its going somewhere it will get the attention it needs.

Last few pics before she was picked up

she had some fancy company for the ride

Truck driver was not to good with a manual trans, bet he stalled it four times🤣 He would not let me drive it onto the trailer so after watching him struggle I decided to give him some advice and instructed him to put it in low range and ease off clutch. This finally worked for the poor guy.

With the white pig gone, it was time for me to focus on my 73. She ran decent but had zero brakes. I ran across a pair of 62s for sale on Craigslist that would make good donors, so I loaded up the trailer and shot to the MS/TN line to scoop them up.

First up on the trailer was a transmission less gray one with a decent interior. Plenty of rust to go around

After getting it home safe and sound we went back for the gold one. It had a few interior pieces that I needed for my DD 62, low miles motor, and trans.

BBQ was good in case you were wondering

Once the 62's were secured at the compound it was decision time, swap the knuckles or roll both front and rear axle under the pig via donor 62. All things considered and because, 'why not', I decided to swap axles and brake assembly. Here is what I started with.

And so it began! The gold cruiser put up a good fight. With rusty bolts and stubborn springs, it took a BFH and a torch for the axle finally let go

Since the axle was so rusted I sent it off for sand blasting. In the meantime I got a little bored and decided to try my shot with a 'professional' paint job. I did what any ole pig owner would do... I went and bought some spray paint.

The paint actually turned out better than expected, even though I tape the door jams in the wrong spot

I decided to only pull the rear axle out from under the gold one, so I could easily move it, then pull the front axle from the gray 62.

I thought this was a good idea at the time...

Good stuff!

After the welding was done, I rust converted the frame and springs. I made sure all the measurements was the same as my fj62. Future plan is to add a OME lift, I should be able to just order a 62 kit and bolt right up!

Thanks to @wngrog for donating some fairly new shocks off the famous Warthog

Once all the axle swapping is complete I am going to go back over everything with POR15

I completely forgot about the bolt pattern difference in the 73 vs 88 driveshaft flange. As SSS18 grew closer (and with @wngrog pressing me) I knew I had to act quick, so for the time being I decided to drill out the bolt pattern on the 88 flange.

Once that was completed the old factory driveshaft bolted right in
