agree...but the LT1 engine is different...it has the reverse flow cooling and some kind of wierd setup on the cylinder heads for cooling (plumbing). THat is unique to the LT1.

The 5.7 vortec is one engine, the 4.8 and 5.3 and 6.0 is another family of engines... all which are not LT1's...

Look under the hood of a caprice police car, or one with that option, or a buick roadmaster or camaro with the LT1.. I'm not sure if the corvette had an LT1 (most likely it did).

I think you'll find there are (is) some type of modification required for LT1 to work correctly, It may just be an extra port on the radiator to facilitate connections to the cylinder heads. Anyway the LT1 is its own"animal"... I would make sure you understand that before you step off into the swap.

You can find some comments realted to the LT1 engine swaps just by running a google search. I'm just saying make sure you understand that an LT1 engine is not just a "regular" SBC with fuel injection.

I don't get to the site all that often but thanks for the replies. I am slowly putting this thing together out of pocket and I found on e-bay a guy that is making harnesses by the name of TechRod. Stand alone systems with all the connections listed by other makers. Does anyone have good things to say about them? the price is right at 275.00 Its to much to modifiy the stock system for me and I didn't want the hole fuse panel in my glove box anyway. Thanks for the intrest and help. Chicago your welcome to high jack anytime its good reading

Right on.. i keep forgetting that this is about the LT1 not the LS1 style. My bad...

:D
