Hi guys. and LRA @wardharris. Need some help with gas refill situation. I have the LRA Aux tank on my 2002 LX470.

Left hole is my OEM tank. Right is my LRA tank. The left side is slightly higher.

This creates a huge issue. I can't fit the gas nozzle in the left OEM hole, none of them are centered. so gas would puddle and drain into the right Aux tank hole. Once the Aux tank is filled, it's almost impossible to refill the main tank as gas would keep puddle up.

Is there any mod to refill 2 tanks at once? Or any better design to this fill situation?

I'm thinking maybe weld a lip or something to block the gas from going into the LRA hole.. that seems like a last resort..

Thanks

Dual filler butterfly valve

Looks like your install was done improperly. The LRA filler is supposed to have a wider ring around the 2 filler necks. Looks like the install shop left your factory one in place which will obviously cause issues.

Where did you get this? Thanks
This is the LRA dual filler. Its the piece sitting below your stock filler hole. Or that's how it appears in the photo. Take it back to the shop and ask them to fix the install. The dual filler has worked for all the LRA customers, you don't need the complicated diverter shown above.

Edit: After others have posted their dual fillers, it appears It may be correct. Hopefully LRA will chime in.

Looks like the incorrect filler neck to me as well Or the LRA neck is damaged, difficult to tell from your picture.

The correct appearance is the picture above and nozzle should fit in either, so that you fill one tank at a time the same as your normal tank.

From everything I understand, LRA is first class and should help determine for certain the issue!

I don't have my truck with me, but I may have a picture. Your filler neck 'lip' isn't supposed to be flush with the bottom of the filler... area.

Its a tight fit even installed correctly, but not impossible. Maybe it would be impossible if you have those weird California gas nozzles, but shouldn
t be. I will look for pics.

The filler looks like the old FrontRunner style. that filler looks like it has been butchered. If it is an LRA, I had what turned out to be an early model that did not fit correctly (brackets did not line up AT ALL) Perhaps you got an oddball filler, I did.

Welcome to the club. It doesn't fit. I cut the bracket on the LRA filler (the 90 degree tab) and rigged up something else to get it to work

Bad picture, but are how much closer to the outside of the vehicle the filler is?

is this the same filler Dirtdawg posted above? So there are 2 holes inside that?

looks like I def need to bring the filler higher in position

looks like I need to buy a dual filler, and bring up the position higher so I can fit the gas nozzle into the hole?

is this the dual filler from LRA? 2 holes inside? and you can fit the nozzle directly into both?

Yes, you just need to wrestle it into place a bit better. Mine put up quite a fight, and I think in the end I left out a rubber gasket somewhere.

It still won't fill the aux tank on the fast setting of the nozzle, but I can easily fit the filler in both.

I don't even know if mine came with this dual filler.

my filler hole looks OEM size. I fit 1 gas nozzle in and it's a tight fit. I have to turn it all kinds of weird position then to reach all the way down.

from the picture Dirtdawg posted, that filler looks like it can fit 2 gas nozzle in at the same time

I have a very early tank (almost 14 yrs old). I am curious if this measurement has changed any on the new filler necks. I sometimes have a difficult time filling up when the nozzle is a bit short. Otherwise, it's been trouble free all these years.

Five of us installed tanks 15 years ago....the dual filler necks are OEM for 80 and 100 series Australian cruisers.

Hi guys. just providing some update. My shop and I emailed LRA and eventually Ward emailed back to me himself. He offered me a free replacement filler. This time it's the newer gold version. Took a little while to receive but everything's back on track. At the shop getting installed.
