Help me please! I tried for hours to get the rear corner glass back in my wife's 45 with no success. I'm using the rope method with soapy water, rubber bands, masking tape and lots of swearing but I can't keep the weatherstrip on the glass and get the glass in the cab. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Maybe I can just cover the holes with Saran wrap and hope my wife doesn't notice. I called a glass guy I've used before and he won't return my call - I guess that tells me what a bitch it is to get these windows in.

Are you sure you have 45 corner weatherstrip and not 40 series rubber, they are different.I did my windows in 20 minutes with rope and soap.Make sure the rope isnt too big also....hth

I have new glass and weatherstripping I plan on putting in mine in the future. Is this new OEM weatherstripping? New or old glass? Are you installing the glass into the weatherstripping and then trying to put the weatherstripping into the top? That how I think it would go in. Might ask this question in the 40/55 section. Other than being a little shorter the corner glass seems to be the same a the FJ40s

glass install

I've never installed any corner glass, but have installed a back glass before. I put the weathersrip in the cab, soaped everything up, and forced the glass in. I'm not sure if it's the correct way or not, but it worked.

Whitey come help me! I'm using new OEM 45 weatherstriping I got from SOR and my old glass that's in good shape. The rope I'm using is ~1/8" and I've used soapy water and straight soap. I'm putting the weatherstrip on the glass and then installing that assembly into the cab (or at least that's what I'm trying to do). I've tried installing the weatherstrip in the cab first with the same lack of success. I've put the flat glass in the back of the cab and I've done 40 windshields without a problem but this is like squeezing a baloon through a key hole.

Keep the ideas coming - thanks.

I ended up using my old weatherstriping for the very same reason, I could not get the new to work. The old went right back in. Let us know how you get r done.

Bring the truck to GSMTR and I'll do it for ya.;)

I've also found that having about a half dozen small flat blade screwdrivers helps, as the curved glass doesn't 'fall' into the panel the same way the back panel does.

Thanks for the offer Mark. If I make it to GSMTR this year I'll be driving the Prius but the upper cab just might fit inside.

I got a whole firewall from a 40 in my matrix so you should be able to fit that thing in there! Post up pictures of Marks mangled paws wraslin that window in there so we can all learn how the pro does it.

And Mark.. If your needing a place along the way to crash just holler.. Jenn and I are right off I-70 and have a spare bedroom.

I just put the corner glass in mine, I used Spector weather strip. I cleaned the glass real good, placed the cord into the weather strip then every 2 inches I taped the weaterstrip to the glass with masking tape. I used a little liquid soap and with me pushing and a buddy pulling the cord we got er done. Remember that there is a right side and a left side glass.

Thanks for the offer Erik, but I'm flying in to ATL. One of these years I will do a coast to coast driving trek, but it doesn't look like it's gonna be this year. Just booked a flight for CMCC in July as well.

I measured the Prius and the upper cab will fit so it's looking more like I'll be coming to GSMTR.

I tried using green masking tape but I may not have spaced it close enough; thanks for the tip.

Mark,

Looks like I'll make it to GSMTR and I'll bring the upper cab with me. I'll even give you a cold beer for each window you install!

One after the first window is in and 2 more to get you back in the mood to install the second window.

I like the way you think! We're gonna get along just fine.:)
