Is that a chevy motor in there? maybe its got an auto behind an old chevy 6.
doesnt look quite right for the early F motor.

looks like a chevy 235...with an old carter cast iron carb.

Thanks Brett. The PO said it his father put a chevy in it in the 70's, and it looks just like the one in your pics. So, maybe it is an auto? Only two pedals that I can see in this pic... :hhmm:

there's 3 pedals there, you can just see the gas pedal rod behind the brake pedal.

my guess is it still has the 3 speed, look at the rod connected to the cutch pedal arm, probably/might be connected with rod linkage when the chevy motor went in. Saw something similar when I bought a rig years ago.

Good eye! That makes sense. I've never seen rod linkage on the clutch. Definitely old school.

Was the chevy 235 basically the same as the F? I know the early F engine was modeled after chevy.

Wondering if it was a common replacement back then....??

Has she arrived yet?

how about now...is it there yet? :grinpimp:

The cruiser left MI last Friday. It should be here this week, any day.

I did a little research here on MUD w.r.t. the chevy 235. Turns out this motor is almost identical to the early F. Many parts are interchangeable.

I can't wait to see the condition of this thing. I don't really have a plan yet...depends on the condition....

what's the verdict? it's past afternoon.:hillbilly:

C'mon, we're dying here.

So the cruiser showed up today around noon. Took a bunch of pics.

I'm not quite sure what to do with her...the tub floors and rockers are pretty bad. they've been patched with bondo extensively. The frame has some rot, too.

The wiring harness and electrics look to be all there and in good condition. The top, bed, bib, and windshield frame are good to very good. Original rims, hub caps, decent seats, good glass...

Looks good overall. That last pick of the frame kind of sucks, but I still think you got a good deal...

Especially considering those Uber rare front tun signals.

I kinda like the wrong, fresh air intake that collects all the bugs and rain as you go forward.

Doesn't look to terrible.
