Good evening. I have a 2020 200 Series LC. I have some of Trail Tailor products installed already and working great.

I ordered the Trail Tailor skids for the lower control arms but they don’t seem to fit. There’s a flange that’s extends on both sides that’s keeping the skid Las from seating. Initially I thought I had bent something however it is identical on both sides. Anyone experience this as well? I’ll post some pics to better explain due to my lack of nomenclature.

Thanx in advance for sharing ur vast knowledge that I lack.

That’s normal. I used a big hammer and was able get one side on. Using a hammer and a jack I was able to force the other side on. Lining up the bolt holes is where I really struggled, don’t attempt on a hill 🤬

Yes, but a few whacks with a BFH and all is good. I used ratchet straps to line up the holes on the passenger side and just jacked up the frame a bit to line them up on driver. 30 minute job.

I’m totally fine to do that. Just wanted to make sure that’s what was happening.
Thanks for the quick replies!!!

May differ but on my FJC when adding LCA skids I used a ratchet strap to the slider and rear wheel to help keep and position the bolt to line up...just in case it becomes off in any way.

I think you have some defective ones. I'm local so I can do you a huge favor and take them off your hands 😆 Jk - the key is to have the truck on totally level ground, and use a jack, ratchet straps, BFH, and potentially a little heat if necessary. Don't forget to wear safety glasses and gloves!

I had a tough time with these. Orientation wasn't clear, and when I had finally decided on which way to mount, the bend was short and I had a big gap. And when that was deemed 'normal ' then one of the self tappers was on the weld and broke a bunch of drills getting that hole made.
Still have the other side to install and definitely I don't think I'll be done in 30 min.

I used a pipe clamp to compress the rlca flange narrower. That made it easy.

For those who have installed did you just BFH this bulge on the side of the frame as well?

Yep. I think I used a crescent wrench to bend it in a bit. Or maybe one of those sand filed body hammers. Or both.
<edit looking at it again, I had to Narrow at the rlca bolt, not front of it at all. That’s different.>

After putting the new arm mount bolt through, use a jack against the front of the skid (only on one corner), then pound other front corner with a 2lb hammer: the pressure from the jack and impact from the hammer moves the skid the rest of the way up where it needs to be. Then (still on jack) drill one hole and install bolt, then remove jack and do other hole + bolt.
