I was about to ask, how did the camp site fare? With the water rising, didn't know if they would be able to accommodate us. I think I might be able to make it.... we (Gman and I) might be able to. Might sneak away for a few hours on Saturday, maybe catch an afternoon football game....

I'm out for Saturday. It's the only chance I will have for the next several weeks to pick up the 40 from @Trollhole and I have to work OT on Sunday...

If he puts it on a raft tomorrow morning, it could be here by 230PM....

Perfect. You'll be coming down I-26 just a few miles from Santee. The force of the Lowcountry boil, beer and Land Cruisers will be more than your 40 can handle, it will bird dog it's way to us.

I got a call from Santee this morning cancelling our reservation. The campsite is under water and the road is washed out. We'll have to make other plan. Maybe we could have it at our November Hamom??

That sucks. I was afraid of this. We could meet at a restaurant for a boil, Charleston Crabhouse has a good one? Just an idea always game for papa zuzu's though ahaha!

I'm out for November, have our reception Nov 7 (which is at a later date from our wedding) then 2 week honeymoon in Tahiti then Thanksgiving.... No worries. If y'all have it then I hope it's great!

Figured. USC Football game moved to Louisiana. Convinced wife it would be OK to go camping. She is still worried about snakes, beard and alligators LOL

There is a chance of rain Saturday, but I'm game for a meet-up & to have lunch together if anybody else is.

Or we could all pile into Jeremy's truck and ride with him to @Trollhole
To pick up his -40.

Why is your wife concerned about beards?

And yes, anyone that wishes to make a road trip to @Trollhole 's to pick up the 40 is most welcome!

A bunch of us doing a road trip in your 40? Sounds fun. As slow as that 40 is and the amount of beer we'll consume, could make for a long drive, is there a drain hole in the 40?

Jeremy - everyone knows beards are more scarier than bears.....and we shouldn't try to text at stop lights.

Okay, for the record, my 40 may be slow, but it SMOKED other more beautiful and pristinely restored 40's in a head to head race! I'm pretty sure I have drain holes - I certainly have rust holes.

Well bummer. I was excited about some camping, but seeing as I don't have a snorkel on the HJ, I'm glad we weren't in Santee to have to turn any of our rigs into rafts!

I'm up for anything as well, mini-HAMOM and hamburgers on a grill, meet at a restaurant, etc. This may be Matt's last outing, some fellow are married 10 years before they get their first kitchen-pass...then he'll be trading in the FJ for a Sienna.

Hahaha, funny but not likely. Have you met Michelle?!?!? She wants to trade in our Highlander for a Tundra. Aside from being cool with all things outdoors she's a freakin warrior! The only thoughts around the FJ and trading it in would be for an 80 or something else if that happens though I'd want/need another daily driver.

That being said, I'm a maybe at this point. It's crunch time. Need to finish some yard work before the big weekend but I might be able to break away. Will keep checking here for any decisions on who what where.

Yeah, that's how most fellows get sucked in, then after the ring, everything changes. There's a lot of jokes about that, but I won't go there. Don't worry Matt, you have tenure with LCLC so when you trade in the FJ for the Sienna, it's still a Toyota and we'll let you hang with us.

I'm kidding of course. I've met Michelle once, and that was enough to know you're marrying up, and she loves the off-road stuff. Before I married, my wife had to agree to a pre-numpt, however, as a young Lieutenant, I didn't have any money. She had to agree to a package deal, me+dogs+hunting.

80 % again for tomorrow...We're supposed to park for the pumpkin patch tomorrow during the day, and fright night tomorrow night, but we will see what the rain does.
either way, I can get free for some food.
any preferences??
