ok, I have a site (#5) at Santee State Park for Oct. 2-4.
We can do the whole weekend with food for $30.00 a head.
Please give me a head count asap so I can plan a menu.
Also if you have any dietary restrictions, I need to know that too.
If you would like something special on the menu, let me know , we can probably work it out.
I'll have all the cooking stuff we need, but I will need some help in the kitchen.
This is all tent camping, in the primitive (scout) camping area.
There is water, and a bathroom in the area.
So far, there is no one else going to be there, so we might have the whole site to ourselves. We did last time.
Small motorbaots, kayaks or canoes are perfect for this area. Bring them if you have them.
Hope everyone can come.
Santee State Park is in Santee, just off of I-95, exit 98, follow the signs.
Y'all are coming close to my stomping grounds now. Wish I was going to be in town to ride by and meet some of you, but unfortunately I won't be around. You guys definitely need to get jon boats and head upriver to Sparkleberry Swamp if you've never been in there or heard about it before. Kayaking is pretty popular in there now as well. You'll think you've been dropped off in the bayous of Louisiana. It is alligator hunting season, so you might hear some shots at night. Don't worry about it, though.
Bring your catfishing rods. Striper season will be open by then as well. There are some second or third rate nekkid bars in Santee as well as an Asian "massage parlor", if that's your thing. On your way out of town on Sunday, stop by Lone Star BBQ on the State Park Road - you'll pass it on the left going into the park.
