Replaced the stock bulbs with this newer brighter one which has a blue color to it (prob how they get the whiter light) and claims to project further downroad.
Easy swap with exception of having to unbolt the battery on the drivers side to get your hands in behind the housing for change.

the blue coating is just to give the appearance of HID light and decreases the light output by coating a regular bulb. They're white/bluer but not brighter.

Blue color is absorbed more into black surfaces than yellow light, so on a rainy day, you may find its difficult to see the road.

Drivers headed your way may also find it hard to see the road. :flipoff2:

after spending 1hr reading all the posts on upgrading the headlights for the LX470 I decided to just give the Silverstar Ultra for $25 a try.

That was my thinking as well.
Are you happy with the Ultra's and did you see a significant difference?

I installed these in my 06 lx. Not a huge difference, probably more like a 25-30% increase in light.
